Greetings from South Korea!

A pack of cigarettes here are 2 dollars american. I don’t smoke, but I am aware that they are about 10 in the USA and around 15 in Canada. Crazy…

Very cool to be in S. Korea.

Question 1: What’s the deal with our draft picks!? I assume that a large part of this is because of the current situation of the CBA, but I would love to know what the situation is with our draft picks, particularly Jackson.

4/8 have signed. I would guess the Magee (3rd), Washington (4th) and Lawrence (6th) will sign in the coming days but Tyson Jackson may be a longer wait. So far only two first round picks have signed and those agents usually like to work off the slotting system so we’ll see….

Question 2: Are we on track to sign any of the free agents left? After a quick check I was unable to find any rumors regarding this, but if anyone has any info then I would love to know!

 Haven’t heard squat. Travis LaBoy is still out there. He played on Haley’s ‘08 AZ team. He’s injured though, so maybe we’re waiting to check on that. Who knows? Willie McGinest wants to play for a 3-4 team and someone from the Parcells tree so that’s interesting although there have been no indications that we’re interested in him. Other than that, I haven’t heard anything remaining FAs.

Question 3: What is LJs deal so far? As some people on here may know, I am a pretty big fan of Larry Johnson (the football player) so I would enjoy hearing if he has been behaving.

 Yep. He’s been behaving just fine. In fact, he’s got a blog! www.toonicon.com and Twitter @toonicon. Everyone says LJ is busting his ass and doing well. This is the best case scenario for us at this point.

Question 4: What is the deal with Brian Waters and Mike Vrabel? Have things been fixed yet, or are they still unhappy campers?

Vrabel was never upset. He’s very into the NFLPA and was exercising his rights not to attend voluntary practice. I don’t think he’s an issue.

Waters will be at training camp. If he doesn’t attend it’s $17,000 per day and he’s his own agent and the Chiefs union player rep so I don’t see him missing camp.

Question 5: How did we sign the Turtle for so cheap? I saw him score 5 goals in the korean soccer league last week, and so upon hearing that we signed him I was ecstatic.

Listen, Turtle wants to win. He sees what we’ve got going on here and wants to be part of it.

I don’t expect to see any more FA signings until after camp cuts start coming. We need to strap on the pads and really find out what we have according to Pioli/Haley appraisal. I fully expect to see a couple more changes before the “right 53” for this year is settled.

Looks like LJ is really trying to be the man again this year. My hope is he keeps his head screwed on straight and runs mad. I’m predicting 1400 yds. That would make our offense pretty potent this year.

No worry about Vrabel, I think he will be a solid player and leader this year. I’m going to be interested to see what condition Waters is in when he hits camp. If he has been busy and gotten in shape I’ll feel pretty good. If he comes in all blubbery he may not fit the right 53 this year. We’ll find out next week.

If he is in soccor shape then Webb is really in trouble. It didn’t take too much money to bring him out of his shell and sign him on.

We really need some Radar sets calibrated around here.
The Chiefs seem to be in Stealth mode and very few in the NFL know just how good we are about to be :) Hope you get to come back home soon.

Calgary update

• Summer has been shitty. Rains too much
• Stampede was still awesome. I saw a girl ride the Mechanical Bull @ Ranchmans with her shirt off. Good times
• Turtle entered the bull riding contest at the Stampede this year. He was disqualified for riding the bull 1000 miles to Kansas City to pick up his drycleaning.
