I know it's old news, but frankly, I treasure Priest Holmes' time with the Chiefs, so I'm going to give a much deserved shout-out to good ole' Priest.
In my opinion, he was the star of the Chiefs when he was with the team, and when I was really just beginning to understand the game of football, I realized Priest Holmes was on top of the NFL world. What has always stood out to me is his level of intelligence and how well-spoken and articulate he is, so it almost seems natural that he is looking at getting a job broadcasting, like Herm. I know it has already been posted on, but we all know how great he will be at this. You can check out the link HERE to the Star's report on Priest. Note, in the slideshow is an interestingly ironic photo...
Priest owning Zach Thomas!
I would love to see the comments on that one guys.
We all knew how classy Priest is, especially with his sincere and ardent passion for his charity, and how hard he worked to come back and make the team after that frightening, nearly debilitating injury, but I was not aware of how truly good he was until I saw him on TV a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if you all saw it, but Holmes was on a show on Spike called, "Pros vs. Joes" in which three guys that almost made it to the NFL compete against three former NFL stars, or ones looking for a job (see "Pacman Jones), in various drills. I watched two episodes with Priest in it, and he is remarkably classy compared to the other five guys that were on the show with him. Rich Gannon was pretty respectable, but he said some stupid stuff, but Priest let his game do the talking. Needless to say, he still has it, and I was really surprised and impressed that everything looked so natural to him still, post-injury. It was perfect that he was on the show with a moronic imbecile like Adam "Pacman" Jones who lacks an ounce of class or credibility, because it truly showcased how great of a guy Priest is. He was gracious to his teammates and competitors alike, even though the rest of them were trying to trash talk and beat up on one another.
If anything, take some time out of your day and check out his charity . He does a lot of work for it and he truly is a great ambassador for the Chiefs Nation, and AP.
Have a good weekend fellers.
