With Arms Wide Open

Well... it’s almost here. The fix for my addiction, that NFL rewind somewhat subsides, is near. My only reason for getting up at 8:00 on a Sunday morning, is practically here. The wife deterrent, that is the NFL, is just weeks away... I had no intent to rhyme.

As for my regular season "Obsession for the AP"...

Nflmd_medium

... the game day open threads, THE PARADE’s Saturday PARADEBULATIONS, reading(don’t comment much) all the arguments and debates, I would like to thank Chris and Joel for my addiction.

So in Anticipation, how do you think our Chiefs will fare?

Great beat track, CM!

“Our brother thinks he’s a chicken. It’s sad.”
“Don’t you think you should take him to the doc and get that stopped?”
“We would, but we need the eggs.”

So…sorry, CMatthews.
We should probably do an intervention and help you with your AP addiction.
But we need the videos.

Holy Shit Dude...

I’m so pumped right now and we’ve still got over a week just to get to training camp. Damn, I just want to go punch somebody in the nuts. Is the season here yet or what? The anticipation is killing me!! Outstanding job on the video btw,, that was money.

Put this in your pipe and smoke it:
1. Chiefs will be at least 8-8 and vie for division champs
2. DJ will break out and finally have his year
3. LJ returns to form
4. DBowe drops will reduce

Wife Repellent

Freaking hilarious.

Does anyone else have the problem discussed in the movie “Knocked Up”, Judd Apatow’s (KC Native & Chiefs fan) character, “My biggest problem in my marriage is that my wife loves me so much she wants to be around me all the time.”

Anybody else ever feel that way? Totally off topic, but damn curious.

The Arrowhead Aura

I have to admit that right now I am sitting on my lunch break…counting down the days until training camp. This video reminded me of something.

I went to a lot of Chiefs games in the 90’s. Probably from 90-97 averaging anywhere from 2-7 games per year. The thing I always…ALWAYS loved about arrowhead were the fans. I remember it would start about 10 o clock when we would actually get in the parking lot. I was just a young teen then. I would start getting chills as I would walk up to the stadium. I would look around and see 80,000 people about to show the opposing team who had the most heart and soul out of all 28 football teams. I remember when the Chiefs would take the field and awesome just isnt good enough of a word to describe what would begin to happen. I love defense…and when Derrick Thomas, Neil Smith, Dan Saleuma, Joe Phillips, James Hasty our defensive leaders take the the field…I felt apart of that time, The Arrowhead Aura. I felt like no team could come and beat my Chiefs. I especially loved it when the Chiefs had flyovers. I used to tell my dad…Derrick is going to have a great game today…everytime there was a flyover.

My wife has never been to Arrowhead. She is a fan….maybe not the fanatic I am..but she is a fan. I haven’t been to the stadium since 2000 due to moving away from the KC area.
I believe the Todd Haley and Scott Pioli are working to bring back the Arrowhead Aura. I don’t know if I will take my wife this year or next….but I think the Arrowhead is being restored. The fans are beginning to wake…and Chiefs are about to roll.

GO CHIEFS!

Loved the video

I voted for 9-7 I think we should have won at least 3-4 more games last year if we had a better coach, and with better coaching better conditioning and bringing in some vet players to help the younger players, 9-7 won’t be that hard to get. I love Thigpen but Cassel is a better QB right now, that should allow the offense to do more. T Green didn’t have pro bowl receivers and still put up some great numbers. The best defense the Chiefs have had was when we ran the 3-4, I know there are still alot of questions about the Chiefs but I also think Pioli/Haley know what they have better than we do.

Herm is gone things are better with that one move!!

by bringbacktheglory on Jul 22, 2009 12:41 PM CDT reply actions

Man Thigpen was really good...

Maybe we should have a Thigpen vs Cassel topic to discuss?

Come on season

Loved the vid
I voted 9-7. For awhile I was leaning on 6-10 but as I watched what is going on and looking at the division we are in, I just went ahead and bucked up with a good prediction. And I’m sticking with it (unless we lose more than 7 games—then I may have to rethink it).

Chiefs go 9-7. LJ makes 1400 yards. DBowe makes 1200 yards. Defense #18.

by Zodeman on Jul 22, 2009 3:00 PM CDT reply actions

I'm still sticking with the 8-8 prediction I have stated several times before.

I figure the Chiefs will win six home games and 2 on the road this year. hopefully Z-man is right and we can maybe sneak away with a couple extra games that we won’t be expecting to win.

Sweet Chiefus, that video was FANTASTIC, CMatthews!

I give it my first ever “Wish I could Rec it x10.”

And you showed the Bradley to Bones TD (MOST AWESOME TOUCHDOWN EVER)…so I’ll make it a rec x11.

The AP headlines were honestly my favorite part. Absolutely and completely awesomesauce.

I am from now on. Not only is it funny, but very well deserved for his work.

Sure, but you've been around long enough

To call Matt Moore Ridiculous Matt or even MAWK. And you still can’t have someone ask you for “directions” without Direckshun coming to mind. One of his recent rants:

Why not give him [dolphin in the Dolphin’s helment logo] the helmet that the Dolphins actually wear. It could even create a Russian Dolls effect where the dolphin in the dolphin’s helmet has a dolphin in his helmet which has a dolphin in his helmet.

In fact, when things are quiet around here next spring, it would be interesting to create a tree of people who have their own blogs after being contributors/commenters at this site. You know, like coaches who have spun off of teams by Belichick, Cowher and such.

by sunny D on Jul 24, 2009 9:52 AM CDT up reply actions

Wow, MAWK. That is an oldie

How about Tom Bahali = JasonM?

I almost didn’t watch the video, because I feared I’d have to listen to that horrible, horrible Creed song.

And yes, I realize that “horrible, horrible Creed” is redundant. Sue me.
