The folks over at Chiefs Planet were talking about one of Larry Johnson's greatest runs in his career. Too bad it came in preseason.
The date is August 27th and the year is 2005. The Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks were knotted up at seven with about 6:00 left in the second quarter when LJ took a handoff and with the help of a nice Tony Richardson block, sprinted 97 yards for the score.
The Chiefs, of course, ended up losing the game 23-17. LJ ended up with 147 yards on nine carries and this lone touchdown run.
Here is the box score. Thanks to Mr. Wendler for the video.
Not much going on in the NFL world today. I'm back from my weekend trip to Chicago. No Jay Cutler sightings though I will say that the town is pumped over his arrival. Nearly as excited as I was to get him out of the AFC West. "We finally got a quarterback!" is what I heard all weekend. I know what you mean, Chicago, I know what you mean.
