Only the Denver Broncos (13) and the Detroit Lions (9) signed more free agents from other teams than the Kansas City Chiefs (8). Not only were the Chiefs active in signings UFAs from other teams, they were efficient picking up multiple starters. Here's how the Chiefs eight UFAs are looking:
| Starter | Starter Competition | Depth |
| WR Bobby Engram | LB Monty Beisel | WR Terrance Copper |
| LB Zach Thomas | TE Sean Ryan | CB Travis Daniels |
| G Mike Goff | C Eric Ghiaciuc |
Not bad. We're pretty sure there's three new starters there with the potential of six.
Via Mr. Gretz, the Seahawks and 49ers each lost seven unrestricted free agents (UFAs) to other teams. The Chiefs had six UFAs heading into the offseason. As a group, there hasn't been much action.
- LB Pat Thomas - Signed a one year deal with the Buffalo Bills
- S Oliver Celestin
- DE Jason Babin
- LB Rocky Boiman
- S Jon McGraw - Signed contract with the Chiefs
- G Adrian Jones - Signed by the Houston Texans
