"It was a better practice for the offense than what they showed Saturday afternoon, but the defense was still the better of the two units over the three days."

"OLB Tamba Hali knocked down a pass at the goal line in a nice zone drop "
This is at leas the 2nd time I’ve read that Hali did well covering passes.
Haley also keeps referring to the “guys that are transitioning” from DE to LB.
Could it be that Hali is doing a great job of making the switch to LB, and he’ll be a valuable defender this year?
Could this be why they haven’t gone out and signed any other OLB???
If so, that’s pretty friggin sweet.
Yep
This is at least the 2nd time I’ve read that Hali did well covering passes.
And both of them came right after I said I was worried about that aspect of his came. Guess I should make these “predictions” more often….
Got to love all the things happening
just got to say you can’t expect rookies that all of the sudden have a lot of money, to train as hard as they should without the coach making them. And it showed during the Herm years.

How is it...
That Malcolm Jenkins practiced with the Saints all weekend but Washington didnt with us because of league rules when they attend the same school?
The lack of Pierre Thomas mentions saddens me.
I don't have religion, I have Baduizm...and Billie Holiday.
Erykah Badu is on notice. Amel Larrieux is catching up to you quickly. Let me see what you got, Erykah.
I mean "Pierre Walters"
Damn, that’s like the 4th time I have done that.

I was waiting for you to say
something about Billie Holiday and that epic touchdown run in 1960.
Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...
Not me
Pierre Thomas is a good running back for the New Orleans Saints, but I don’t really care that much how he’s doing.
Pierre Walters, on the other hand, I am interested in :)
He got mentioned
A couple times on Friday and Saturday I think? Maybe? At least once when Albert “shut him down”.
so uh
am I the only one starting to think Matt Cassel isn’t what we thought he was?
Time is a great teacher... unfortunately it kills all it's pupils.
In one interview he talked about being in competition his whole career.
He meant it to say that he was totally ok with the competition, but the fact is, he’s lost all those competitions since entering college. It’s another similarity between Thigpen and him. I didn’t expect either one to shine as much in practice as in games. Recall, Thiggy was a poor 3rd behind Huard and Croyle. It wasn’t until he was thrust into the game that we saw how game the kid is.
It took Payton Manning a little while after knee surgery to sharpen the QB-WR chemistry. I expect the young QBs we have will take a little longer than that. So what I’M looking for is to hear about all the extra reps Cassel/Thig are getting with their receivers AFTER daily OTAs.
Losing the competitions
I’m okay with him losing to one of the best college QBs in recent memory (Leinart) and the best pro QB in recent memory (Brady).
And agreed on young QB/WR combos taking some time. WRs usually take some time to develop anyway.
Yeah, I was all excited to make the Bates correction.
Should’ve expected a dozen others to have already done it, which is what happened. I’m sorta rootin’ for Jackie Battle. Hasn’t shown much in the league, to date. Not sure what his problem is. FB size with HB speed and quickness. Was really hoping to see him push LJ.
Mention of Battle as a special teamer in coverage, is about it.
Still would like to see him challenge for a regular offense spot. Known as a short-yardage FB, I think he can do more than that. Tremendous athleticism at 238 lbs (which description is usually accompanied by “and every bit of THAT”). I think he played a lot closer to 250 a lot of the time.
