Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Sets Assist High In Easy Win Over Sacramento

"We would've loved to have Brian there," Stoll said, "but he just didn’t show."

Stoll said she didn't hear from Waters before the event but that the Chiefs generally handle player attendance. A team spokesman said the Chiefs never heard from Waters on whether he would or would not attend Wednesday's event.

Let me put this as clearly as I can

if Waters doesn’t show up tomorrow…he can go screw himself.

He needs to act like a man and get his ass to work.

What mandatory work has he missed?

I’m not holding it against him for blowing off some charity event.

I'm not either

as I said above, IF he doesn’t show up.

I am a little pissed at him for throwing a bitch fit to Whitlock…but if he shows up to work like he is supposed to, it’s all good.

I'm holding it against him...

He doesn’t call… he doesn’t write… NOTHING.

Im done with waters

Hes to old anyways he has 2 years max he was only good with roaf and shields. You can always find a guard there replaceable he needs to realize he’s not that big of a deal and play football while he can. Plus missing out on your own philanthropy is horrible shows why the front office didn’t give him a meeting.

I don't want to sound like a homer/hater but...

Waters didn’t deserve to go to the pro-bowl last year. He’s only credited for giving up 1.5 sacks but I watched every game and I can tell you he gave up a lot more. He missed as many blocks, if not more, than anyone else on that line, especially in the running game. I’m not trying to say that Waters sucks because he’s still an above average player in my mind, but you could tell his production fell off big time last year due to either lack of motivation or something else. That’s why this whole situation is pissing me off. I’d love to have Waters around next year but if he left, I wouldn’t complain either.

I'm saving my criticism/concern

for when I get a solid reason why Waters wasn’t at the fundraiser. All I’ve heard so far, are speculative reports as to why he might not have been there. I will be reserving judgment until those reasons are determined.

by jbj8609 on Jun 4, 2009 4:23 PM CDT reply actions

True

But it doesn’t bode well for him if NO ONE knew he wasn’t going to be there. With the past events that have transpired, this likely wasn’t a mistake on his part.

I will keep my criticism of Mr. Waters.

This was one of his ‘gigs’ that he does year in and year out. All he had to do to was send an email, or call and say I’m sorry that I will not be in attendance.

Writing something that could have been read would have even been better and shown real maturity.

The only thing that Mr. Waters has to do to get back in my good graces is to show up tomorrow, and issue an apology to the First down on Downs.

Everyone here is Diehard KC Chiefs fans

Maybe there is a story, maybe there isn’t, we will find out soon enough. Either way, if Waters goes to work and be a part of this turnaround, and every fan in chiefs nation will stand behind you I am sure of that. Turn your back on the greatest fans in the nation, and thats what you are doing if you don’t show up, then cya as far as I’m concerned. Trade him for a provisional 7th rounder a draft 3 years down the road as far as I’m concerned if you can get it, and lets put guys in there who want to be a part of this team and system.

I love waters…..but its black and white for me, either you want to be a part of whats going on here or not.

If the reason Waters

didn’t show up to a charity event, a charity he the honorary co-chairman of, because he is upset with the organization then he is a disgrace to himself. That is the most bull-headed and selfish thing I’ve ever heard. Yes, you can ruin years of hard acting as a philanthropist by one foolish and petty act.

If he doesn't show up

Do you guys think Pioli would trade him?
Brian is a good football player but he just needs to PLAY!
Hell, if he wants to be traded then trade his ass and get some draft picks/another guard!

by Wrestler189s on Jun 4, 2009 7:20 PM CDT reply actions

Pioli

will make his ass sit at home. I guarantee it. And then, his career will be over.

by KCMizzou on Jun 4, 2009 7:47 PM CDT reply actions

I think thats the debate Waters has right now. Play again with the Chiefs or hang em up.

I just read

Babb’s article, and couldn’t agree an ounce more with that last paragraph.
