Who were they hiding it from?
Just because you haven’t told Page and Pollard on a personal level, keeping it under the rug for ONE DAY isn’t gonna make a difference!!!
“The Don” was a good pick up but all this dumb secrecy of signing players is a little too much! C’mon Pioli!
Predictions as of 06.24.2009.
Larry Johnson will be a top 3 fantasy pick once again in 2010 (after a monster season in 2009.)
Dwayne Bowe will be a 2009 Pro Bowl selection.
Brandon Flowers will have at least 6 INTs in 2009 season.
Todd Haley will have a sideline shouting match caught on TV yelling at one of his asst. coaches.

Don't think they were hiding...
I think they have to wait until its filed with the league office before they can announce the signing (at least that’s what I think I heard) :-)

I Think That's Right
Contracts have to be approved by the league office…the only reason it looks like they’re being secretive is that word gets out so much faster these days that we know before they can announce it.
Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
2. The Lions will draft Matt Stafford, the Rams will draft Jason Smith, and the Chiefs will draft either Aaron Curry or Eugene Monroe.
3. Maurice Carthon will be the most hated man on the Chiefs' coaching staff within two years.
4. Larry Johnson has already played his last meaningful game for the Kansas City Chiefs. He's gone before the 2009 season starts.

Yo UC
You must be getting used to the new job if you’re commenting during the day.
And, yeah, I know they have to file it with the League office. I think with rookie deals after it’s signed it’s at least a maximum of two days to Management Council then another two days to the NFLPA.

Not So Much Used To It As
There’s just not a lot to do when we’re at the office except study slides and take classes. Most of our busy days come when we’re on trips training units at different bases.

UC, didn't you end up in Phoenix?
Have you been to the Native New Yorker?

Actually, I'm In Bisbee
An hour or so southeast of Tucson, about five miles from the Mexican border. I work in Sierra Vista.
I’m thinking of heading up to Phoenix for the 4th of July weekend, though…if the Native New Yorker’s good I’ll check it out.

Wow. That is a big change from Wichita
Native New Yorker is the best wings I have ever had. I think they might serve some cerveza their too…
Good to see that things have calmed down enough that you can blog again!

Yeah, It Was An Adjustment
I basically got the job in mid-May and had to be at work in Sierra Vista on June 1. Got all my stuff moved, got my house on the market, finished my stuff with work, found a rental place, closed all business I had to do in Wichita, and still made it to my high school reunion weekend before hitting the road…all in the span of about a week. That was some stress. :)
I’ll definitely check the Native New Yorker out when I’m up there. Nice thing about Arizona is there’s so much to see in-state…and I’m not all that far from the West Coast either so once I’ve got some vacation time saved up I’ll head out there to travel around (it’s an area I haven’t seen enough of).

Man, you have been busy.
Congrats on the new job! I think you will love Arizona and the West Coast. I don’t know what it is, but I always had a great time in Phoenix, and my Father lived in Southern Cali forever. I wouldn’t mind living out there if there wasn’t so many people! Lots of cool stuff for sure.
Be careful of the Laker bias!

Oh, You'd Like Bisbee Then
It’s a town of about 6,000 people…lot of artists and ex-hippies. When I was stationed at Fort Huachuca about 12 years ago, I used to come to Bisbee on the weekends to hang out because it had this cool, laidback vibe and there were plenty of things to do. Always told myself if I ever moved out here again to this area I’d live in Bisbee.

Cool. I think I really would
As I get older, I keep trying to think of ways to escape winter. It sucks! I need to winter in that Arizona RV town (can’t think of the name) and then I will come down and see ya.

I've Got A Three Bedroom House I'm Currently Renting (And May Consider Buying If The Owner Realizes It Isn't 2006)
If you’re vacationing in winter just let me know and you’ll be more than welcome to stop by. :)
