"I’m going to be catching a lot of punts and kickoffs and I’m going to work on my routes," Lawrence said of his plans over the next six weeks. "I’m going to catch about 300 balls a day. I know what I have to work on."
Lawrence should concentrate on catching the punts and kickoffs because right now that’s about his only chance of making the opening day roster. The returner position is wide open.

Off topic
but not even worth a fanshot (because I can’t find a link anywhere)
Did anyone see Jack Harry’s little blurb last night about Tank Tyler staying behind to work out instead of taking a few weeks off before camp?
A coworker told me about it – apparently Tank really likes the NT position, and is determined to win that starting job, so he’s trying to get stronger.
On Topic – I really hope Lawrence improves enough to make the team – his speed is something we’ve been lacking for a while.
Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

re: Tyler
He played NT at NC State and I’ve also heard that he’s a fan of the position. That’s good to hear.

Interestingly
Mario Williams played next to him as a 3-4 DE in college, but was drafted #1 overall to be a 4-3 DE
Tyson Jackson played as a 4-3 DE in college, but was drafted #3 overall to be a 3-4 DE
=)

Yea before the combine he came in weighing 337 and expected to be drafted for exactly that.
“apparently Tank really likes the NT position, and is determined to win that starting job, so he’s trying to get stronger.”(yes if given up on the formatting and putting this in block)
Considering how strong he already is/was this could get scary. I love it.

How much beef does Tank need to put on?
10-20lbs?
How many US Open runner ups have you blazed with? Way to go, Ricky Barnes.

He was at 306
So not a whole lot (though 15 lbs for a guy his size is probably a lot). Remember, he was the strongest guy coming out of his draft class.

Have we seen any hints yet
as to whether he’ll be a 1-gap, smaller (relatively speaking) NT, or a space-eating 2-gap NT?
If his assignment is 1-gap, 306 may be big enough…

I know it's early
but I love it that every player that is interviewed likes their new position and seem to be working hard to get better.
Herm is gone things are better with that one move!!

Love to hear about hard work but....
….if Q can’t figure out that being a WR isn’t about winning a track meet then he can catch as many balls as he wants and it won’t mean squat. This is the problem I have with “fast” WRs, they are almost too fast. They get caught up in trying to run by the defender that they forget about their route or if the QB can even throw that far. Also that speed can cause timing problems with the other players around them, if you hit a spot to fast, a good defender is going to get the clue and is going to deviate from his assignment and that leads to turnovers. Maybe this isn’t fair to Q at this point but they tend to be a little soft and develope alligator arms also. If you run good routes you will have a great chance at getting open, if you run great routes you WILL be open, fast or not.
Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.
