All eyes should and will be on Cassel this year in Kansas City because we want to see how he plays and what type of production he can engineer without the New England offense — especially WRs Randy Moss and Wes Welker.

Most redundant phrase of the offseason is officially...
“How productive will Cassel be without Moss and Welker?” or some variation there of. Moss is surely a great player and a great play maker and we have our version(although a different type of WR) in Dwayne Bowe. Welker on the other hand isnt that great and I will never be convinced otherwise. He’s a system guy who thrives in that system and would probably be mediocre at best anywhere else. He was a nobody before he went to NE and would still be a nobody without them.

To be fair...
He was putting up similar numbers in Miami and was only in the league for two seasons when NE traded him. Belichick has a history of trying to acquire the guys he has the most trouble against.
Not sure on how Welker would do in other systems, but can’t blame the guy for finding the “right” system. He’s virtually unstoppable the way NE uses him and I for one would love to have a guy like that on the Chiefs.
And couldn’t agree more with you re: “How productive will Cassel be without Moss and Welker”? But….it’s the truth. He played with a lot of talent out there and I am DYING to find out if it was him or the system. Per multiple reports, Cassel is the hardest working guy in the building, which is the same way Tom Brady was described. Not calling Cassel the next Brady by any means, but it’s a good comparison to have under your resume.

Ok maybe "a nobody" was too strong
But I still think system guy. I agree though that I hope we get or have someone who does something simillar here.

For now
That’ll be Bobby Engram. Though he could be gone in as quick as a year.

I'm still waiting to see what Haley
can do with the receivers, it does seem everywhere he goes the WR’s have some of the best seasons of their careers.
Herm is gone things are better with that one move!!
