In 1996, the Pittsburgh Steelers had a problem. They drafted a talented athlete, Kordell Stewart, and didn’t know how to use him. Surely, he wasn’t polished enough to play quarterback, but nobody had ever seen a Quaterback with a rocket arm who could run a 4.4 before.
Chan Gailey, their Offensive Coordinator, came up with an idea. "Let’s make him a slash," he said.
"What’s a slash?" people asked
Chan Gailey said, "You’ll see."

Gailey is a stud
Not only did he go to Super Bowl with Pittsburg, but was Denver’s OC under Reeves and went to a Super Bowl there too. I was ecstatic when we got him last year, and I think one of the best moves Pioli made was keeping him. I think he is going to run the offense. Haley has enough other shit to worry about.
That makes me pumped
Two lines:
Gailey’s shotgun-heavy attack is a perfect philosophical fit with new coach Todd Haley
and:
The Chiefs will attack through the air and could have the NFL’s most improved offense in ’09.
Considering our offense was really not that bad last year after Thiggy got going, we may be able to help out our D by limiting their playing time.
Interesting point there...
Can Haley and Gailey coexist? They are both offensive masterminds. How do two offensive gurus exist with each other? Gailey has been taking control of the offensive play calling but now with Haley he may want to take control. I don’t know but it could get interesting.
In Pioli We Trust
