VIDEO: Tyler Thigpen - 'If I make myself better, that's going to push Matt and the other guys'
The Kansas City Star has posted a video of Tyler Thigpen following yesterday's OTAs. In it, Thigpen is the consummate team player, as he has always been. I noticed that I had not seen too many interviews with Tyler Thigpen so it was nice to get to know the guy a bit more through this one.

Yes, he's a good guy. The Chief's are fortunate to have him. Obviously, Herm
…..did bring in some very good talent. Now I think that Haley is the ideal choice to take them to the next level.

Great Post
I REALLY hope that Thigpen will develop more and be a starter (for the chiefs) one day. He seems to have a great attitude and generely is a good guy. Isnt he young enough to sit back a couple years and still have a possibly great career?

24 years old I think
so yeah. Cassel is already 27 and he’s just now starting.

He'll get his chance
It might be in a couple years with the Chiefs or another team. A QB could go down and throw him into the lineup. Like last year, and like Matt Cassel.

If he continues to work hard and improve his game...
He could be a great QB someday. He is a good kid. if he doesn’t ever get to start as a Chief, he will probably end up being successful on another team. if that happens, I hope it is because Cassel also continues to get better and Thiggy is just not able to get the job. not because Thiggy is not good but because Cassel is better.
Either way, I feel like this is the best QB situation the Chiefs have been in for a long time.
Go Chiefs!

Wow
I didn’t even notice I used a very similar title to the KC Star’s. Weird….

Good attitude, Thigpen. Keep it up, and embrace your inner Jeff Garcia.

Man
The dude just seems like a great guy, and i hope he does improve his game. I’ve waited along time to have a QB here that we could watch grow with the team, and not some other teams leftover’s! I would have been willing to wait a couple of years for Bones. I hope Cassel is as good as you guys think he is, but i hate him myself!

If this turns into another Gannon/Grbac situation, I hope KC goes the Gannon route this time.

Oh well I was hoping
he would actually have a chance to be the starter, Maybe he can practice and beat out Cassel next year?

Caveman, why do you hate Matt Cassel?
He seems to be a decent guy to me.
You know if he is lighting up the scoreboard you will jump right on the Casselwagon.

Sure
He seems like a great guy and i hope he does well for the sake of my team, but i hate the pats and anyone from that team! I just wish players played out their career’s on one team like they used to! It’s all about the $$$ and no team loyalty! It may seem stupid to some of you guys, but i would rather see Bones on the field as our starter, than Cassel. Im no bandwagon jumper, if i was i wouldn’t like the Chiefs or the Bears!

Yep, imagine if Favre had finished out his career with Atlanta, or Young with Tampa Bay.

He knows he would not be the starter if he stayed in NE.
Here you have a guy who has obvious talent and has been riding the pine behind some GREAT QBs. He showed last year that he is very capable of being a starting QB in the NFL. I don’t blame him for not wanting to stay in NE and be a backup. Money or not!
I look at it like this, The Pats have won three Championships in the last ten years. I am more than happy to bring some guys over to help get us to the same level. If you are going to steal players, at least get em from a team that teaches their guys how to win!
It is my dying wish to see my Chiefs win the Super Bowl. I don’t care if Brodie Croyle is the starting QB.
