Players aren't always the same from one team to another
He may fit better in their scheme; he may be giving more effort in Tampa; no one knows exactly what the answer is for him not performing or being allowed to perform more consistently here. Good luck Jimmy W!

We have enough examples
of players going onto other teams to make impact and/or find roles (i.e, Mitchell, Fujita, Wilkerson, Fox, Beisel, ect.) that it’s just not coincidence. Hey, what do you know – all those names I listed were Gun’s responsibility

We
so desperately could have used him last season. Obviously wouldn’t fit into our new scheme, but the guy is a pure football player. He is another example of how the Chiefs drafts haven’t been all that bad the past decade, it’s just our coaches who have been

Bucs have done alright with Ryan Sims too.
by Chiefsfan1970 on Jun 19, 2009 12:35 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
But nothing to show
that he wasn’t a bust. Wilkerson is an overachiever, Simms was a mistake. Though I think he’s been right all along about our coaching
by KansasCityShuffle on Jun 19, 2009 12:37 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Sims was massively overrated, and I was amazed at how fast KC fans fell in love with him leading up to and following the draft, but he did have at least first-day talent. Coaching failed him, as it failed many other talented youngsters in KC.

Balogna
Sims’ doughnut addiction failed him…
Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

Did it also fail the entire Chiefs defensive line, except Jared Allen, in the entire post-Schottenheimer era? Because that’s how many defensive linemen in KC have looked absolutely terrible. Sims put on weight, but weight alone doesn’t make a top-ten pick at defensive tackle into a worthless turd. The coaching and team atmosphere have been absolutely awful.

Not certain this is a positive.
Most of the news out of the Bucs camp isn’t good… beginning with Gruden’s dismissal and spiraling down, out of control… in fact, they may be the dumbest team in football. I wish Wilkerson the best in Tampa, but I just don’t see it.

I like how Domenik
the new GM and Kansas native, chose Talib (KU alum) & Freeman (KSU alum) with his two 1st rounders. Shows his scouting is real comprehensive and thorough..

...and that was PRECISELY why I didn't want him here.
No offense to any college fans here, but the Midwest really is big on school pride to the point where they sometimes tend to make judgments based on it. There were SO many people I talked to during the GM search who wanted him ONLY because he was a KU guy, and if you looked at his resume (i believe it was posted here) is was extremely unremarkable.
Again, I know I’m speaking in generalities, so no offense to KU/college fans in general (I don’t follow NCAA sports at all). Just an observation I once made.

What concerned me about Domenik
was the report that he personally leaked the Chiefs were interested in interviewing him (when such wasn’t the case) just so he could leverage Tampa Bay

It seems to me
that he’s buying in to TB’s system and team. I don’t know the guy personally, but it seems like he’s made some strides in maturing his outlook on life. Maybe being let go by a team pushed him to achieve more. In the article, his coach talks about what a hard-worker he’s been this offseason. I don’t know how that compares to his time in Kansas City but it seems like he’s maturing.

Own your own business
and you’ll understand. I’ll say this, $251K or more in annual revenue no longer qualifies your business as “small.” How in the hell are you supposed to pay yourself, pay your employees, pay your overhead and pay your taxes all with less than $250,000 a year.
Yes, Bush was bad, he hosed our international image. Obama is working to screw us on the domestic front at a record pace. Yayeee! Let’s increase the ridiculous deficit that Bush left us with eight times over in a 90-day span. Pretty bad in my book.

Also, the larger part of that deficit comes from legacy spending, courtesy of the previous administration, that wasn’t counted in the Bush budgets—namely, bailouts and the Iraq crusade.

The Obama approved stimulus (new social program experimentation) plan
wasn’t Bush legacy. While Bush completely screwed the pooch, Obama took it a massive step further. The chart here is the best visual example I could find. While I realize this is a right-wing publication, the numbers come from the CBO. It’s completely disgusting.

Can’t believe the GOP voted for him. There’s a reason I abandoned that party in 2000, and it was Bush. He got worse every year. And I don’t see myself rejoining the party—or the dems for that matter—for quite some time, because the party of Rush really has lost it.

I agree, the GOP is a mess...
I think they’ll continue to be in shambles until they get away from the Bible thumping and get back to a simple message of lower taxes, less taxes, and a strong military.
Still I think as time passes GWB will look better and better. Not that he’ll ever be, or should be, viewed as favorable but he’ll look better. Think about how he said he wanted to “free the people of Iraq,” he was blasted for it. Now look at whats going on in Iran, people taking to the streets demanding their freedom. Maybe that nutty Texan was on to something.

i agree
i’m just saying, people are all caught up in the moment of huge democratic victories, and if they’re anything like the republicans were in 04, it will eventually go to their head and they’ll be the “enemy” again. It happens all the time. nothing new. The GOP will adjust to the position that gives them the best chance of winning (and if that’s becoming more-or-less bound to theological science, so be it) just as the democrats did when they were kicked to the curb.
on a purely political level, though, i agree with you. the GOP has been hijacked by an extremely conservative-christian base that doesn’t appeal to the masses and doesn’t appear to be any time soon. until they cut those ties, they’ll be in limbo.

Bob Dole made a great point this week about the Health Care bill.
The Democrats need to work with the Republicans and add a few of the things that the Republicans want, and not try to ramrod the bill through Congress.
This way when the bill is scrutinized for its failures, which it will have no matter what the Democrats will be able to go back to saying it was a bi partisan bill, and if we had done it our way then we wouldn’t be having these problems.

What the hell are you talking about?
Obama seems to be playing the religion card more than anyone…And whats bad about it is, he shows zero loyalty to his own “so called christian faith” when he is in the middle East, he claims to be a Muslim, When he is here in the US, he claims to be a Christian.
And it is probably best that you don’t call “bible thumping” nonsense. If you want to talk about your religious beliefs or lack thereof maybe you should find another site to go on ( or maybe I should) because I personally find it quite offensive.
It’s funny how everybody who claims to be a Christian is labeled as some kind of “Bible thumper” Or how everyone who has a conservative point of view has been chastised as of late. Now that we have a Democratic President who is doing everything he can to make Conservatives look like Redneck, gun totin, possum eatin, idiots.
wait till your taxes are so high you have to use Government programs to feed your kids. And then your kids will have to do the same because we cannot pay down our debt to China (who by the way hates the US) so they can’t afford to get a decent education and will just continue on with the neverending cycle of dependency on the government for everything. Then, when people decide they want to take back the country, they won’t be able to because their right to bear arms will have been stripped away from them by President BO.
But hey, it’s all good. It worked out for the USSR didn’t it?

talk about being offensive. You say this isn’t the place for politics/religion but then you go on tirade. So wait, this isn’t the place for HIS politics. Just yours.

And bible thumping is nonsense. =]

Saudi Arabia was gonna explode.
Still might. But there won’t be 250,000 U.S. troops there, to blame and be a focal point of Saudi rage. HW Bush put ’em there. Clinton let it ride. W Bush got ’em out, which was a huge step forward. Several steps back, since then. Did the rebuilding part on the cheap, with too few men on the ground, and no Marshall Plan to get ’em back on their feet with democratic institutions ready to roll.
But neither of the Bushies were our Daddy’s kind of conservatives. So-called conservatives became the majority party by selling-out on the leftward march in government growth. Expansion of the state and diminution of civil liberties is not conservative, but seems to be the neo-conservative way.

Maybe he improved, maybe the coaching is better, maybe he was in the wrong scheme.
