After the penalties were announced Thursday, Bennett received a call from his friend and former teammate, Brodie Croyle, a quarterback with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Croyle saw the news on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
"Brodie called and said, ‘Dude, does this mean we were like 4-28 in our career at Alabama? It looks like that doesn’t it,’" Bennett said.

That penalty is rediculous
I dont understand why they would forfeit that many wins when the violation didnt even affect the performance of the players or affect the outcome of the games?

It Affected Their Eligibility
Therefore since they were available to play for that game they gave Alabama an unfair advantage. At least that’s the logic to it.
Frankly, I think the NCAA is a pretty ridiculous organization when it comes to their rules.
Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
2. The Lions will draft Matt Stafford, the Rams will draft Jason Smith, and the Chiefs will draft either Aaron Curry or Eugene Monroe.
3. Maurice Carthon will be the most hated man on the Chiefs' coaching staff within two years.
4. Larry Johnson has already played his last meaningful game for the Kansas City Chiefs. He's gone before the 2009 season starts.

makes no sense
Too bad the players get screwed when it made no difference. I guess I will never quite “get” the NCAA rules.

Wrong...Even at 4-28, his college record is still better than this pro. :)

Vacating Wins Is Such A Crock
The score sheets will remain the same, the stats will remain the same, all that’s really affected is the school’s win-loss record and the trash-talking between fans. It’s one of the most pointless and idiotic “punishments” the NCAA throws down…particularly because it has zero effect on punishing players (and usually coaches) who did anything wrong.
