The defense came out in the 3-4 with the rookies as they did a walkthrough against the Chiefs offense. On the defensive line were draft choice Tyson Jackson at LDE, first-year Derek Lokey at NT and draft choice Alex Magee at RDE. Working at outside linebackers with the first group were first-year man Darrell Robertson and college free agent Pierre Walters. Inside linebackers were a pair of college free agents Javon Belcher and Corey Smith. On the corners were draft choice Donald Washington and college free agent Londen Fryar, with college free agent Ricky Price and an unknown tryout player at safety.

Cool
that Lokey has came back. If people recall, he was signed off our practice squad by the Rams last season.
Also like the sound of Robertson & Walters playing opposite each other. I hope Fryar is 2010’s MoLegg

I think Lokey
was an UDFA signed by the Chiefs and he stayed on the practice squad the entire year.

Man
I can’t find any links for it, but I could have SWORE the Rams signed him off our practice squad last year. Maybe I’M wrong, but I thought I remember readers being dissapointed because they thought he had potential after watching him play in Texas

Wow
It looks as though I’m dead wrong. Not sure how; sorry Chris

About Lokey
287 lb. NT? Wonder if he’s more of a 3rd string DE and just filling the NT position for practice

No worries
From a few articles I’ve read about it, it sounds like he can play a few different positions on the defensive line.
He won’t factor in probably at all this season.

Hazard a guess: he weighs a little more these days
Also, he is one of the strongest guys on the team and plays with incredible leverage. NT is a good spot for Loke. He is shorter which makes for low center of gravity as well. I hope he gets some times this year. He would also be a great 3 tech in an under, he is def a penetrating type of defensive lineman.
"A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week."
Looks like you know your stuff on Lokey. I was about the bring up the height issue. I don’t think he’s really cut out to play end in any kind of NFL defense, but the kid has the motor, penetration ability, and strength to play a compact nose tackle, I think. I think he makes for a solid backup for the time being. I do think his true calling is as a three-tech, though.

Derek Lokey?
I guess they’re having some of the young player from last year participate too?
No NFL experience
Just practice squad. That’s how I’m looking at it.

Hell yes, Pierre!
Get after it.
I don't have religion. I have Baduizm...and Billie Holiday...and Janet. Actually, just Janet.
I agree
Good luck Pierre! And if you could, could you hand a note to Coach Haley saying “Scaryclouds says hi!”?
Does anyone know if Holtzclaw is in this weekend?
"But what do I know, I'm AP's new assclown and I’m like an empty room with a large ECHO"
I was wondering the same thing
I googled him and our articles come up on the top of the list. By our I mean AP’s of course. Checking the Lions site he’s not on their roster and nothing appears when you search him. The last news I have been able to find are the rumors of him being signed 9 days ago, but again no confirmation on the Lions site. So I dunno. Still have my fingers crossed he’ll end up here.

According to Bobgretz
There’s a mystery player practicing with the LB’s and one with the DE’s. One could be Abare, but maybe Holtzclaw is in with one of them? Yeah….
