Ahhh, Samie Parker,

It just keeps getting better...

Agreed

It was pretty clear his talent was limited but he that didn’t make him a bad player.

by Chris Thorman on May 8, 2009 8:19 PM CDT up reply actions

I don't think his talent neccesarily made him a bad player. But something did.

There are a lot of players with talent. Apart from his below-mediocre success in an offense where touches were dominated by Priest, Larry, Eddie, and Tony, Sammie did nothing in multiple years to give any confidence that he good be effective. He’s an enticing talent, that’s why the Chiefs drafted him in the 4th round, and the Broncos picked him up, and the Raiders picked him up. But the Chiefs cut him, the Broncos cut him before last season. He was picked up by the receiver starving Seahawks who made no attempt to re-sign him after the season. And now the Raiders want him! He’s a nobody in the NFL.

Yeah

and we know firsthand how that track speed translated to the NFL =)

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

by PVChiefsfan on May 9, 2009 7:28 AM CDT up reply actions

knew it

thats a prerequisite to play for the raiders

by cassel4prez on May 8, 2009 8:24 PM CDT reply actions

Wow...

Now he’s going to FADE just like all the other Raider players

by Wrestler189s on May 8, 2009 9:04 PM CDT reply actions

As I recall

Parker was always great in practice, but his hands never showed up during the games. If he can turn it on in when it matters, he could contribute.

by TheQ on May 8, 2009 10:26 PM CDT reply actions

Catch and release.

Parker will likely be waived before the season starts. And that’s unfortunate for the Raider Nation as he probably has softer hands than Heywood-Bey.

by Pilcrow on May 8, 2009 10:28 PM CDT reply actions

Like term!

He’s a speed guy to bring into camp to have on the 4×100m relay race they have at every Raiders training camp.

by RedNose on May 8, 2009 10:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Sammie Parker could shine for the Raiders...

… considering he only caught crappy passes. If Oakland had a good quarterback, however, he would drop every pass considering they would be thrown right to him.

ha...yea...

The ball between the legs thing…and what not….

What a silly habit…He could have had a lot more of those if not for the butter apparently on his fingers…

by woodman212 on May 9, 2009 12:00 AM CDT up reply actions

HAHA...

I love it….

Sorry I have been so silent all day….been dealin with the storm in SWMO….like 60,000 people without power (including myself, if not for a crazy generator)

Lots of chainsaw cleanup tho…

by woodman212 on May 8, 2009 11:37 PM CDT reply actions

Wow

I was wondering where you’ve been…that bad, huh? Just been in KC.

by Joel Thorman on May 8, 2009 11:39 PM CDT up reply actions

It was a great day....After like 10

But the morning was like…60-70mph gusting winds and yea…pretty bad stuff. Poles down and stuff so we dont know when we will have power back…But luckily it is great weather for open windows.

by woodman212 on May 9, 2009 12:01 AM CDT up reply actions

Yes that's a plus at least

I remember in like 2002 or so, we lost power for like 6 or 7 days after a terrible snowstorm in KC.

I was terribly sick at the time…no power….miserable…

by Joel Thorman on May 9, 2009 12:04 AM CDT up reply actions

Yea.

Seems like we have one of those every year now…GLOBAL WARMING!

I like this Samie Parker thing….too bad they likely wont keep him past camp…it would be great to watch him drop balls against us…hmmmm

60-70 mph wind gusts

try livin in Western KS. We have those on almost a daily basis!

Don't blame me, I voted for content of character.

Is your power still out Woodman?

I heard it was really bad in Joplin.

by TheQ on May 9, 2009 12:12 AM CDT up reply actions

Mine is, yes.

Carthage in the city isnt as bad as Joplin. Surrounding carthage tho just about everyone is out.

Joplin is bad as far as electric, not sure about trees and stuff, but yea.

Empire Electric blows. lol

There are some folks without here and there around Springfield

but I don’t think the storm was the sustained winds that you got. But it still was a pretty impressive storm.

by TheQ on May 9, 2009 12:19 AM CDT up reply actions

Sustained winds were around 40 here.

Gusts they claimed MAY have got up to 80 in some areas which is like…almost hurricane lol…

It looked like the worst went just south of Springfield so you all got lucky.

by woodman212 on May 9, 2009 12:24 AM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, we were all sweating it a little at work

You could almost feel the roof “lift up” from the crazy wind. But I know we got pretty lucky. Just part of living in the Ozarks.

Hope your power is up soon. I know how much that sucks!

by TheQ on May 9, 2009 12:28 AM CDT up reply actions

Yea...well...

I am at my parents house and they have an insane Tractor PTO-generator and it is providing me quite well. lol

At least it isnt freezing out…

No S---!. I don't know many people who don't have generators

after the last two ice storms. I personally don’t want to live through another one. Makes you think about moving to Costa Rica.

Great point.

The Raiders should be the last resort. Just ask Randy Moss.

I better read his name a lot come training camp time.
