"It was tough," Colquitt said. "We were losing, I was hurting. It was very painful."
Yes, they are professional football players, highly trained and highly paid athletes who perform in front of millions every weekend in the fall. But lurking inside every guy wearing a helmet is a little boy that sometimes needs to talk to his Mom.

I wonder
If Colquitt knew how this article would come out? :)

Addressing the 4th quarter?
Even though we’ve kept the same strength and conditioning coach (haven’t we?), there’s a new emphasis on overall and core body conditioning. This sounds like great news to me…
…after taking part in the team’s off-season conditioning program, he’s probably in the best shape of his life. He’s dropped 10 pounds, not because he wanted to lose weight; it just flew off with all the running the team has done.
"We are going to be in shape," Colquitt said. "Come the fourth quarter, we are still going to have something in our tank.

And hopefully that conditioning will pay off...
… in the end of the games this season.
Not to be overly optimistic, but they lost 6 games by 7 points or less last year.
A change in endurance/energy/execution could have made a difference in the outcomes.
On a side note, I’m ecstatic that Dustin’s back and healthy. He clearly struggled with the injury bug last year and fought through it like a champion. I’m hoping he makes the Pro Bowl this year for his efforts.

I say this all the time...
85% of all NFL games are won/lost by seven points or less. That is a meaningless stat.

Yeah...
Teams like the Lions and Cardinals have been “losing really close games” for years. Anything’s possible (see the Cardinals last year), but I don’t rely on that stat as anything more than it is what it is.
Not to say, I don’t have hope either. I’m cautiously optimistic for the upcoming year, just not relying on how close our games were as a basis.

I think this is less a comment on point differential as the fact that we always seemed to run out of gas in the second half. All the comments I’ve heard coming from players add up to us being a hell of a lot tougher team this year. Is it time for kickoff?

Agreed
Dustins a hell of a punter and was the teams MVP for a while last year as much as I hate to say that…
