Around SBN: Dog Football! Which Breeds Are Best Suited For The Gridiron?

For the past 15 years, wide receivers have not, surprisingly, been especially high-profile performers for the Chiefs. They weren’t marquee players even when Dick Vermeil’s offenses ranked among the NFL’s top five for five straight years, including league-leading rankings in 2004 and 2005.

Only once during the past 15 years has a wide receiver, Andre Rison in 1997, led the Chiefs in receptions. The team’s other top pass catchers since 1993 have been tight end Tony Gonzalez eight times, fullback Kimble Anders four times and running back Priest Holmes twice.

This is crazy!
Only once during the past 15 years has a wide receiver, Andre Rison in 1997, led the Chiefs in receptions.

Has anyone ever won a Super Bowl without their star WR contributing the most yards/receiving TD’s/receptions? Hmmm?

Although some think that we have lost any ability to have success throwing the ball, I think we need to look at our new HC….oh yeah and our new QB.

I'm currently reading "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" and it feels like we got ourselves a McMurphy on our hands....wheelin' and dealin'

Kinda explains why we haven't won a Super Bowl.

Vermiel liked to dump it short to RB’s and Tony was Tony. But, you would expect a WR to STEP UP in 15 years and say “Give me the Rock”. Haley will have to expand the WR role in our new offense to get the D out of ‘8 in the Box’ to stop whatever running game we will have this Year.

I hope that we will be able to utilize Cottam as a more traditional TE threat.
I hope that Charles will give us that threat of a RB screen or flat pass when needed.
But Johnson will need to gouge the D and the WR will have to open up the Rush game or we will SUCK!

NAAAAAA

Then they would be forced to not post all the great information these guys dig up. The heavy cloak of Pioli secrecy needs to stay away from AP.

For the record…I love the fact that he plays it tight to the vest however.

+1

Let’s keep AP our little secret ; )
But could you imagine the interviews that the insiders can get?
And we get WTF.
Most of the propositions/conclusions posted by Chiefs site are 2 weeks old here.
