off topic - how much is superfan addition to NFL sunday ticket?
I switched over to direct TV today so I can finally get NFL sunday ticket. Saw that superfan addition for more HD games/red zone etc was extra $, but pricing is not yet available for this year. How much was it last year? I heard that you might be able to get it for free by calling Direct TV and haggling - any truth to this?

I was thinking it was between $50 and $100
But the Red Zone Channel that comes with it is very much worth it.
I don't have religion. I have Baduizm...and Billie Holiday...and Janet. Actually, just Janet.
It was an additional $99 for the SuperFan package in '08
Which I think is ridiculous considering I’m already paying for monthly HD access/service for Non-NFL Ticket HD programming. I’ve had Directv since 1997 and can remember when the Sunday Ticket package was only $129 for the season. They’ve increased the cost of the package around $20 per season ever since. To charge an additional $99 so you can view the games in HD is bullshit.
Considering the new big $$$ contract Directv signed with the NFL, I’m sure the increases and gouging will continue.
yeah $400/year is getting kind of insane
… but after they pay 4 billion for exclusive rights, it was expected. Used to get many more chiefs games here in st. louis, but zippo last year. I must see this season. I am going to try and haggle with the retention network. Worked all the time for cable and might work here. There may not be much wiggle room with the sunday ticket, but may be able to get the rest of the bill down some
Another aspect to superfan is
you can watch any of the games streamed to your computer.
If you are traveling, or not at your house for the games, you can still watch any of the games in high quality on your computer.

if your not afraid of working the phone
and waiting for customer service, you can save some real money with Directv.
Something every week is screwed up. One of the HD channels are down, on another the nfl games won’t start feeding on time, they screw up your bill, etc. The trick is to call constantly and politely complain. Talk about how expensive it is, tell them that whatever is wrong is the only reason you’re using their service instead of cable. One year, by the time we got to the third game, they had comp’d me for superfan for free and half off my nfl sunday ticket
hooah!
