Well then...
…I guess that says even more about the guy. If he can’t make it in KC or Detroit, I’d guess he’s probably hitting the CFL.

For anyone that thought we gave up to early on the guy or Haley “picked on him”, theres your answer.

Definately
Time to stop over inflating the local talent that isn’t. We cannot afford to be emotional about any of the players. No time to waste!

Wouldn't say that it isn't.
Jim Schwartz doesn’t seem like the type of guy to take much BS, either. If he had a bad work ethic/attitude, I’d imagine they wouldn’t bother.

I cant imagine its a scheme thing like we claimed, sounded too fishy. Maybe work ethic and attitude?

I heard that
But then I heard “overweight” was 5 pounds. I’m not buying that.

5 lbs. overweight
was the story. And if that were the case, I’d stay away from Haley in between bowel movements

JUst how inept was Herm?
His picks can’t catch on with 2 of the 3 worse teams in the NFL.

He was a spread WR
And several teams are running variations of that so I expect him to catch on in training camp someplace.

SIGN HIM IMMEDIATELY!
Just kidding. It just seems like as soon as someone is available, there is a large outcry from people to sign them or trade for them.

Unfortunate.
I was hoping that Franklin’s release was a mistake, for Franklin’s sake. He’d overcome a lot of adversity to reach the NFL.

Wow
There has to be something going on with this dude. How long did he last about a month. Geez to have that speed and youth again. Oh wait I never had that type of speed. Anyway looks like he is running out of opportunities.

Haley is a hard-ass in a good way
Herm has destroyed our football compass. Being tough on players isn’t a bad thing. Haley brought the best out of Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald as well as the entire AZ offense. Why people want to find fault with this guy is beyond me. He produced results and the top performers love him. Pioli and Parcells love the guy, too. Get off his back. He’s going to be tough and fair. He’s demanding and that’s how it is with the best of the best in the NFL. Vince Lombardi, Chuck Noll, Bill Belichick, Bill Parcells…..some coaches have done quite well being tough and smart. Haley is tough and smart. We’ll see how he does, but backed by Pioli, I feel good about our chances.
Will Franklin is a nobody. Why he gets any attention I’ll never know. Haley is not Herm Ed\wards. I’m good with that.

Franklin
I had heard before he was drafted that he had dyslexia and that it would likely take him longer than most to get comfortable with a playbook.
Could be the reason why he’s not catching on anywhere. If he’s slow on the uptake, coaches may not think he is a hard enough worker (which may or may not be the case regardless).
by ChiefDJ on May 15, 2009 9:03 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
I have heard that as well
But haven’t seen a confirmation anywhere. If true, that is sad. I really feel for him.

Just The Way Of The World
Although with two teams giving up on him so quickly I suspect that it’s probably more work ethic than inability to learn. I mean, the guy was a non-factor on special teams last year too. For all his supposed physical tools he really added nothing to the 2008 Chiefs. I imagine that the Lions saw the same sort of thing that the Chiefs did…not much.
Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
2. The Lions will draft Matt Stafford, the Rams will draft Jason Smith, and the Chiefs will draft either Aaron Curry or Eugene Monroe.
3. Maurice Carthon will be the most hated man on the Chiefs' coaching staff within two years.
4. Larry Johnson has already played his last meaningful game for the Kansas City Chiefs. He's gone before the 2009 season starts.

Friend Of a Friend
A friend of will’s said that will made it sound like he wanted out of KC, he felt like it was a boot camp. Looks like he must have wanted out of detroit too! St. Louis and Indy both put a waiver claim on him when the Chiefs released him, detroit got him because they had the 1st waiver claim. Looks like the Rams weak recieving core might get a little boost. Will may be on his way back home to St. Louis.
by Chief Arrowhead on May 15, 2009 9:55 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Damn that was fast!
His best bet for any future would be to land in Indy. Reggie Wayne would be a good mentor for him, much like Kennison was for Bowe.
Now hopefully this team is fun to watch again! Thanks Scott, Clark!!
