Are the Chiefs going to make an aggressive move for WR? I think they've left themselves the mobility to be decisive on this key position. Engram was a solid team-building move, as much for his experience and the need to develop younger players behind him, as for his ability to come in off the bench and make a tough chain-moving catch in key situations. But Engram in the slot in 3-plus WR sets leaves the 2nd WR question open, at least to me.
I hear a lot about Bradley, but even his fans finish their tirades with "... if he can stay healthy."
Do we want Boldin? Do we want Plax? Do we want Edwards?
I don't think we missed-out by not taking Crabtree. I wanted to see pretty much what I saw Pioli do (and say) in the draft, giving him the benefit of the doubt on trade-down possibilities. I'll even give him the push on taking Jackson at #3, if the D starts dominating. I wouldn't've taken him THERE, with the info. _I_ had available.
But a team that really expects to WIN right away had better have something up its sleeve at wideout, beyond what I can see, right now.
If the Chiefs DO make a move at WR, it's likely to catch most of us off-guard. I don't expect a lot of hooplah building up to a big signing. But I would not be at all surprised to hear of a deal.
