Here are my random points of the day...
*When the Vikes Prez tells the media that he is looking at picking up Brett Favre, how do you think Tarvaris Jackson feels? Or even Sage Rosenfels? I'm fully aware that the NFL is a business and its nothing personal. But this makes no sense whatsoever. Jackson wasn't as bad as so many people thought last year. He played well in some key games near the end of the season. The same goes for Sage Rosenfels. He wasn't terrible last year either (except for the Colts game where he coughed it up at the end). Even with some of the errors he made, his numbers weren't terrible. Like Jackson, he had some pretty good games last year. In fact he was so well-liked by Minnesota that they TRADED a draft pick away to pick him up. Teams don't trade away draft picks to get a player who they don't view as a legitimate starter. Jackson and Rosenfels are both battling for the starting QB spot. Their depth isn't too terrible either (Booty may surprise - I don't know). So why would the Vikes reach out to Favre? What that tells me is that Minnesota's coaches don't have any clue about what to do and that Minnesota is desperate.
*Look at what the Chiefs are doing. They recognized that the QB position was in need of an upgrade so Pioli showed us how ballsy he is and managed to get us Cassel. It wasn't a desperate move - it was bold and shrewd. And even though I don't believe him when he says it, Haley seems pretty confident that there will be an open competition for the starting QB spot (dont tell that to the Chiefs homepage - you can pre-order your Cassel jersey today!!!). There doesn't seem to be any rush to win right now - they're just building for the future.
*It was risky, but so was mudbutt.
*Seriously...is it just me or is September 13th too far away?
