Bob Gretz responds to the Lombardi article about character issues
Interesting read and possible motives for this attack on the character of some these young players.

I agree with Gretz
Lombardi is just trying to stir something up and is loosing credibility.

Ha
No, I agree with him here. Lombardi’s assertion that it was a character issue didn’t make sense to me. Then Bowen fleshing that out made even less sense.

I think the initial post on this page
linking to Lombardi’s write up even asked who the hell the was talking about besides Washington.

Right
Because the others they described weren’t what I would consider “character” issues.

These "experts" are just going nuts...
because they can’t figure out what Pioli is doing. With Pioli being rather guarded with his details about how he and the Chiefs operate, Lombardi and Bowen can’t understand what’s going on. I may have to post on this, it’s given me some food for thought.

Lombardi isn't very reliable, in my book.
Maybe it started with the Cassel thing, but my eyes roll every time it’s his turn to add something to the conversation on NFL Network.
OTOH, there IS a history with Plax not being all he can be in the locker room, and while we’re all impressed by the NYG’s SB run, and his part in it, there undoubtedly red flags all over Plax’s resume.
But Randy Moss has come across as a smart team player since his arrival in NE. If something similar were to take place with Plax, I’d be OK with that. Part of what Hunt hired Pioli for was his ability to make personnel judgements. Red flags? You bet. But if Plax, against all odds, winds up a Chief, I’ll suspend negative judgements until and unless something negative flows from the decision.
As for Wes Bunting, he’s probably a young kid with a fair amount of geek, who’s pretty good at writing and organizing his information. I’d say he has a head start on breaking into journalism, but it appears from the comments being made that he’s NOT quittin’ his day job to lurk in front of ANYbody’s training facilties. He probably has zilch in terms of inside info.
