VIDEO: Q&A with Rookie CB Donald Washington
From the FanPosts. -Chris
New video from the mothership...
Highlights:
Q: How was the rookie mini-camp and what did you expect?
WASHINGTON: “I did not know what to expect coming in to be honest. I expected to learn a lot of things and meet a lot of people. That is what happened to sum it all up. It was fun. We had a good time, but at the same time I know I am a long way away from where I need to be.”
Q: What was the message from the coaching staff this weekend?
WASHINGTON: “We need to get used to doing things the way the Chiefs do it. We have to get out of the old habits and get used to doing the new things.”
Q: Did some things shock you in mini-camp as you are making the transition to the NFL from college?
WASHINGTON: “I don’t think there was anything that really shocked me. With a different head coach there are different things he likes to do. It all boils down to doing what is right. At Ohio State you had to do things that were right under Coach (Jim) Tressel and here you have to do things that are right under Coach (Todd) Haley. There were not any shocking things.”
Q: Is the challenge harder because there are a lot of young corners on the team?
WASHINGTON: “Regardless if they are young or old, it is going to be a challenge. You are a professional athlete in the National Football League. Everybody is good no matter how old they are. It is just a matter of going out and competing. I don’t think age has anything to do with it.”

It may take some time for him to adjust to the NFL
but I have high hopes for Washington. He may be the most athletic DB we have had since Dale Carter.

45" vertical is just sick!
I was trying to find the best ever. Not sure if this can be trusted. 51" for Randy Moss!?

If he can play...
…let’s hope he’s more level-headed than #34 was. He could be goaded into game-changing penalties. Wish he’d played just a LITTLE bit smarter.
As far as athleticism, though, I think Dale Carter was the fastest player in the league for a few years. Don’t know that this Washington kid can run with ANYbody.
