Friday Morning Chiefs Update
Kansas City Chiefs News
- BIll Wiliamson of ESPN says the Chiefs should pursue Arizona WR Anquan Boldin. We asked this very question earlier in the week and 67% of you said we should be pursuing Boldin. (H/T JayKC)
- Clark Hunt: "I could tell during the week he was starting to lean toward Tyson based on his film review. That, coupled with the fact the player will come in and really help the team transition to the 3-4, pushed him over the top."
- Bob Gretz is talking about the Chiefs biggest positional needs. Coincidentally, they are the same needs you guys voted the top three earlier in the week.
- Forget about the Chiefs getting just released LB Bo Rudd. The Browns claimed him off of the waiver wire.
- Another sore subject for LJ. Zing! (NSFW language and H/T to Chiefs Planet)
- Here is a video of two Chiefs fans talking about the draft, with lots of footage from the Chiefs' official draft day party. Prepare yourself to see as many Trent Green and Priest Homles jerseys as possible.
AFC West
- The Broncos are adding new members to their scouting department as well.
- Chargers LB Shawne Merriman injured during a commerical shoot?
- Despite being a Raider, Nnamdi Asomugha sounds like a pretty nice guy.

Merriman Wasn't Injured
Nice try there, Chris. :)
Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
2. The Lions will draft Matt Stafford, the Rams will draft Jason Smith, and the Chiefs will draft either Aaron Curry or Eugene Monroe.
3. Maurice Carthon will be the most hated man on the Chiefs' coaching staff within two years.
4. Larry Johnson has already played his last meaningful game for the Kansas City Chiefs. He's gone before the 2009 season starts.

Ha I know
I thought it was a good clip. Actually made me feel human feelings for Shawne Merriman for once.

I don't think it's coincidence
that “reporters” are following up and writing about topics discussed on AP. Especially when over 2/3 of the people think the Chiefs should pursue Boldin, that’s a good topic that would bring readers to ESPN.com.
Just saying, you’re making their jobs easier in a way :)
My crystal ball says that the Chiefs will not be drafting Aaron Curry. Their record at the end of 2009 will be 10-6. After witnessing the 2009 draft, their record will be 8-8.

I think our polls our legit
measures of how Chiefs fans feel. A few thousands votes is pretty damn good.

Sorry but that video was a downer
Nothing positive was said it seemed.
I did like how CHunt tried to entertain the guests, I think I heard Curry shouted more than anyone else…apparently he forgot to relay the message to SP.
I realize it was in the moment and at that time I was a little negative myself, but I’m just sick of the whining and complaining. Everyone I run into outside AP says “Tony this…” and Why did Pioli do that…?"
They even had to mention the Belichick vs. Pioli debate…..ugh!

Because those were our big names
The team currently doesn’t have anybody worth talking about. We have the Pats’ number 2 QB as our starter, a #5 pick DT that didn’t wow anybody last year, and our current top pick is a ho-hum run-stuffer DE (though he fits the 3-4 very well). Until we start winning games, we have a boring team to talk about. Everybody expected Pioli to come to town and blow things up like hid understudy did in Atlanta. But Pioli did the right (and more boring) thing of reorganizing our scouting and evaluation staff. Just not much to talk about.

Okay, thanks
Talking about why it’s boring isn’t so bad.

That is funny. Who knows if it is true, but it is funny.

sore subject for LJ? haha
That sounds like bullshit. I’m not buying it. I don’t ever trust a blogger to tell the truth unless its an AP blogger!
