When it comes right down to it...
Let's face it, folks: speculating on which guy will help/hurt our beloved Chiefs is fun, but moot.
The fact of the matter is that too much has changed for /anyone/, even Pioli + Haley to know what will be coming out of the gates come September. As much as I hate to say it, the 'new' Chiefs may not even have continuity with the 'old' Chiefs.
If so, that can be both good and bad. Good, in that we could be watching a high-efficency winner, and bad in that the pluses might be balanced to the point that nothing stands out.
Sure, the Marty days, with the terrifying Ds came to naught, and likewise Dick's high-powered Os - but both of them had an element of fear for the opposition.
Winning is imprimis, sure, but it would be nice to field a team that made the opposition do more than worry a bit about winning, especially in the early stages. Still, it's too early to say much of /anything/ about what our boys will do next season.
Therefore, back to the scrum, but let's keep in mind that no one really knows how the Chiefs will jell up next season. That itself is reason enough for hope.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Buzzkill. You sir, your name is Buzzkill.
The reason why we are all on here is the sole fact that we love to speculate, opinionate, and discuss Chiefs football. Seeing that we won only 2 games last season, it’s not like we could get any worse. Sure, the new regime may not be like the Dolphins/Falcons turnaround of last year, but we will at least have a better chance to compete.

I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.

I try, sir. ;-)
You might have noted that I did say it was fun, and “back to the scrum” was to encourage such discussion.
Something that didn’t occur to me when posting this: The “professional” opinionators have no better idea what the ‘09 Chiefs will look like than the fans we do. Now /that/ is a thought worth bearing in mind when listening to/reading them. Just because they are paid to have an opinion, doesn’t mean that their opinion is worth anything more than a random APer, this year.
Cassel vs. Thigpen in Camp should improve the play of both.
Next on the need list: linebacker, and both lines

When it comes right down to it :
Stay Tuned ! The only thing certain in this world is change ! I tend to focus on the whole team ; rather than interchangeable parts ! In deed ; something to look forward to rather than doom & gloom ! I also am Bleedingred&gold!
