PrintI Know madden is just a video game and just cause a player is rated high doesnt mean hes is good player. But thats just kinda disrespectful to me. There are alot of second round players rated higher than jackson who was the number 3 pick. He should have at least been a 80. Curry is the best rookie in the game and kinda makes you second guess the pick of jackson even though Curry wasnt a real need.

All I have to say is that they better make the Chiefs somewhat playable
I can’t stand playing my friends in Madden. I usually kick their ass when the teams are matched, so for the second or third games I will go with Chiefs due to their horrible overall. Have you ever tried throwing to Bowe with our QBs in the game, it is damn near impossible to get a completion, even with slant routes. And LJ can break a few tackles, but the line speaks for itself. Please EA, give us atleast an 84 or something!!!

The key is to get him into training and build his speed up to 95 or higher. He’s too slow otherwise.
Also, I trade for Calvin Johnson, so Bowe’s just the secondary receiver. But they’ve both turned Tyler Thigpen into a monster. :)
Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
2. The Lions will draft Matt Stafford, the Rams will draft Jason Smith, and the Chiefs will draft either Aaron Curry or Eugene Monroe.
3. Maurice Carthon will be the most hated man on the Chiefs' coaching staff within two years.
4. Larry Johnson has already played his last meaningful game for the Kansas City Chiefs. He's gone before the 2009 season starts.

I always play my friend at Madden with the chiefs, and he always plays the cowboys… and he always wins! The O-line always falls apart and I get sacked almost every play. and LJ never makes it by the line of scrimmage. lol

how is Maybin a 78?
Before the Bills foolishly picked him, he was expected to be a late first-early second rounder. People may view Jackson as a ‘reach’, but he was’t gonna fall past the Broncos at 12 anyways
Same with Robert Ayers. Neither of those guys should be higher than 75.

Dont you hate it when you try running a sweep or something to one side....
and the defensive end or LB snuffs the play out and sheds his blocker in like .5 seconds and pounces you for a 2yrd loss…..I hate that. How does the defense know what you are running. You can pick run through the middle and they will audible their safeties and LB to blitz…lol….I hate that.
One thing I did to kinda cheat was to find the fastest RB in the game on FA that has a somewhat decent catch and then edit his position to TE…..you can run the TE in straight fly patterns and he beats the LB that is covering him every single time…..it always works….when you do that and run the score up to 100 it kinda gets to be no fun then.

If you are just starting a franchise make sure to pick up Dan Cody a FA OLB…he is like 72 overall, then switch him to DE and he is an 84. Him and Jared Allen killed it for me (yes i traded the vikes to return KC’s prodigal son to his rightful place) And yes i got rid of tamba.
Devery Henderson is unstoppable in the slot, soooo fast, with D Bowe on the outside, just btw. He is an affordable FA like 2 years into franchise.
Also my boy Trey Lewis, DT for the atlanta falcons, is a beast. Like 79 or so when you get him, couple years and he is now like 89. Him and glenn dorsey hold down my interior DL.

Why doesn't Madden
imply their online play with realistic rating changes for players as the season goes on? You suck that year, your rating goes down. You ball that year, you get rewarded with higher skill ratings. That would be awesome!

I hope its not like 09, i personally think 09 sucks. i hate how the progression works, having to train 3 guys every week. it should just be a natural progression. and the drafting blows, you take your time and pick a decent first round, sign the basterd and hes a 70.
Guys I need some advice
I bought a Wii and a bundle of games a few months back for about $300. It was great value because I got the Wii, controllers, guitar hero, guitar, Zelda, Madden, Tiger Woods, Tony Hawk and some other great games. I was super pumped.
I enjoy Madden for the Wii though it took getting used to. I didn’t really like the fact that they forced you to use Mi’s as refs cause I don’t like all that cartoon shit in my sports sim.
Then I read Madden was getting a makeover for the Wii this year. i was super pumped and figured they would finally update the engine and take the graphics to the wii’s limit.
Instead, last week, they release the trailer and they have turned Madden on Nintendo to a full out joke ass cartoon game. If you haven’t seen the trailer check it out. It looks totally ridiculous. The players have distorted bodies and it looks like the graphics from Zelda Windwaker.
Anyway, my birthday is the 13th of May and my girlfriend offered to buy me an Xbox360 because she feels bad. She knows Madden is my all time favorite game to play and she often suffers in our studio apartment while I play and monopolize the TV. She is super frikin cool!
So I need your help. I have only ever had Nintendo Systems and I know jack about XBOX. If some of you guys could help me out so I can tell her what to get I’d appreciate it. I know there are a few different kinds. I don’t do a ton of serious gaming. I don’t play online a ton but I also don’t want to go out and have to buy a bunch of extra add ons later.
1. Which XBox system should I tell her to get?
2. What game is really cool that I can ask her to get me to keep me busy till August when Madden comes out?

I don't do Xbox anymore.
I switched to PS3 because you basically get Blu-Ray for free when you compare the two. Also, PS3 has a wireless card built in so I can browse the net with a bluetooth keyboard and open AP on my 53" LCD HDTV.
I also set up my PC as a Media Server and stream all my music, videos and pics to my PS3.

I have XBox 360 with a 60 gig hard drive.
It’s called the pro I believe…There is also a 40 gig that doesn’t come with internet wires or hd wires, and there is a 120 gig I believe and that one is exactly like the pro but with more space to store games and videos.
I suggest the 60 gig because you can always get a bigger hardrive but the HD and internet is key.

I just need to get a subscription to Xbox live and get the new Madden game. I’m a GTA, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Madden, and Left 4 Dead fanatic.

so you have to pay for a subscription to play online? That’s BS. I can play for free on the Wii. Although the game will suck so I am still getting an Xbox.
The sad thing is that Nintendo and madden are LOSING a customer. If they made the game cool for Wii i’d buy it. I know the graphics can’t be what they are on Xbox but the Wii version doesn;t have to suck and look ridiculous. My bet is that they will switch it back to normal because I don;t think it will sell.

Get Madden for the PC so your girl can watch the TV
The graphics will be better, the game will run faster, and you won’t have to deal with the “loading” crap that game systems are famous for.
The Wii will never be anything more than cartoony. 480p is the top of the line resplution you can get out of a Wii. It doesn’t have the hardware to support High Definition or run the newer graphics engines. The games are fun, but they will never be realistic looking.
As far as the 360 goes, well…. good luck to you. Mine red ringed on me. I sent it back and it 6 weeks to get fixed and shipped back to me. 3 days later it red ringed again. 6 more weeks, and 6 days later it red ringed. Then I scooped it up and took it down to the firing range and worked out my frustration with a .45 cal pistol.
$350 flushed down the toilet for the system, and I bought 5 games with it.. so another $250 gone. It was the first gaming system I have bought in about 10 years when bought it. Your PC (assuming its not a POS) will always be capable of better graphics and greater frame rates than any gaming system + it can be upgraded. Run the PC to the TV if you want a bigger monitor.

and then I have other people who swear by their X Box and ave never had any problems. I’ve never done any gaming via PC though I suppose it might we worth a shot. Thanks for the advice!

mine was covered by the 1 year....
which was extended by another year after the 28% failure rate became common knowledge.
But after 3 times and 11 days total play time and 12 1/2 weeks ship and repair time I didn’t care about the warrenty anymore. It was much more thereputic to shoot the damn thing than it was to deal with customer service again.

The red ring of death was most often (there were 2 other possibilities) caused by the massive amount of heat coupled with the bargain basement material they made the boards out of.
If you played the thing for 4 or 5 hours solid (even with the aftermarket cooling fan attached) the board would get so hot that it would warp. As the board started to curve downward at the ends and bubble up in the middle it caused connections from memory/graphics chip/main chip/bus controllers etc to sever. Welcome to Red Ring. They first started using different memory chips to solve it, then they beefed up connections, and finally they just changed out the material the board is made out of. (This information is what i have been able to glean from tech support phone calls)
So, Patrick Allen, I would suggest that if you do buy an XBOX you do NOT put it on top your TV, inside a component cabinet, or stack it on or under any other components. That will only increase the over heating problem. Also, invest the $20 in the snap on cooling fans (they didnt work for me, but better safe than out $350 + games).
They have made changes to supposedly make it more reliable and reduce the failure rate, but hell if I’m gonna give them any more of my money. I’ve been PC gamer for a long time, and compared to PC’s the console graphics are crap anyway. Anything really popular on a console that you may want to play eventually comes out on PC (except mario/sonic type games). Plus on the PC you can customize all the controls, develop macros for easy of play, and you don’t get porked in the butt for all the accessories. (ie $99 for an $8 LAN card just because it has a propritaty XBOX connector on one end, or extra fees in order to join game circles or for online play options)
Better safe than sorry PA, make sure you protect your investment.

After Market Cooler is bad
Don’t put the after market Cooler on your 360. It will get over heated where it plugs in, which by the way is plastic on the cooler, and then it will begin to mess up your 360. This happened to me and when I sent it in Xbox said that it wasn’t covered under warranty due to the cooler not being an approved Xbox component. Basically after lots of phone calls with Xbox support I finally found the original box of the cooler which said it was approved by Xbox. I had to send in the original cooler box so that they would repair my 360. I have since noticed that the cooler is no longer an approved 360 accessory.

Without a doubt get the largest HD your GF will budget for. Also, have you never heard of the greatest game EVER!
It’s called Halo. Also, Fallout 3 is pretty awesome too. Warning though, both are HIGHLY addicting!

I have only purchased the original Zelda. It is pretty bad ass. It works just like the old one. You can use the Wii Controller by just turning it on its side or you can plug in an old Gamecube controller.
The games are usually like 5 bucks. You just go on the Wii Shop Channel and you can search for what they have. So far I have seen they have all the Mario games, Zelda games and Contra and stuff like that. Man tha reminds me I should buy RBI Baseball 4. I f ing loved that game.

I love my ps3, as soon as i got one for christmas, i ran to best buy the next day and bought a 50" samsung 1080i HD LCD. I have a stack of Blu Ray movies, which kick the shit out of any other format, and Killzone 2 is the funnest FPS since socom came out.
I really wouldn’t have expected any Chiefs to be top ten on ANY of those lists. I think Brian Waters and Dustin Colquitt are the only Chiefs who should be in consideration for any top-ten ranking at a position.
