Introductions...
Since there are an array of new people coming into our fold here at Arrowhead Pride, I wanted to take this time to formally introduce... well... US... This is an Official Arrowhead Pride Roll Call Introduction... Let's rec this up that way newbies can read this and get a feel of who's who here at Arrowhead Pride and for those of us who need to be reminded of our fellow AP pioneers. So, I wanna hear from all of you AP Vets (that means you Lanier, UC, DThomasReigns, primetime, etc etc) and the newly drafted AP Rookies...
Hello, the names ROC 27. As you can tell I am one of few Larry Johnson supporters. I'm from Los Angeles, California (tough place for a Chiefs fan to live... Chargers and Raiders fans everywhere, but I fight on). I enherited my Chiefs fandom from my Dad... the only good thing he ever left for me.I have an english bulldog named Dexter and a fiancee (soon to be wife in 3 months) and they are both Chiefs fans. As I've said before, I'm one of the more debate-ful "AP'ers" around these parts. But I have confindence that I am loved by our fellow contributors. If you ever wanna meet me, you can find me every season at Qualcom stadium once a year... I'll be the guy in thick black framed glasses, an LJ jersey, and the only one standing and clapping AT the Charger fans that I'm surrounded by when we score. Other than that.... Welcome to Arrowhead Pride.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

(That is Woodman-Two-One-Two….not Woodman-Two-Twelve)
I am from Carthage, MO….22yrs Old….Criminal Justice Major at MSSU. I have been a Chiefs fan since I saw Marcus Allen score a diving TD in the snow against the Broncos and reenacted it for my whole family. I am part of the Third Watch of AP as me and people like NaNz and Husker and ROC are usually the only ones up late into the night. Sometimes I surprise everyone and wake up early in the mornin too…I typically attend two Chiefs games a year and will likely be at the Home Opener. Love bein a part of AP…

Woody!
I’m turnin’ 23 this year! We’re like young Veteran Chiefs Fans! … I 1st realized my love for the Chiefs when we drafted THE Derrick Thomas… I became obsessed when Neil Smith and DT ran wild on the NFL as a team and bff’s.
I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.

Maybe instead of just Veteran or Rookies you could put like: Less than One Month, 6 Months, 1 Yr, 2 Yrs and Since Conception lol….
Seems it would offer more insight on the populace!

I’m a 21 year old accounting student at Pitt State. Grew up in Pittsburg and been a Chiefs fan my whole life. I’ve been reading AP since around November of last year, but didn’t get a log in or start commenting until more recently.

Where do you work?
And are they looking for new people? ;)
I’m starting to hate my current job, there’s no communication between upper and middle management, which leaves many employees (like myself) getting chewed out for not knowing where to be, etc. It’s just getting old, and probably why I’ve been prickish the last month or so.
My crystal ball says that the Chiefs will not be drafting Aaron Curry. Their record at the end of 2009 will be 10-6. After witnessing the 2009 draft, their record will be 8-8.

Considering
I travel for a living and don’t have any idea where I’m going more than a week in advance (for 30 days at a time) due to the communication problems. There’s probably 25 people in my group, we have 1 section leader, and under him there are 4 other “team” leaders. How I can go so long without anyone being able to tell me where I’m going to be sent before my plane ticket is bought is ridiculous. I think it’s just my team leader, as opposed to our section leader, but who knows.
It’s getting ridiculous, and I’ll continue my neverending search for greener pastures :)

Yeah, I hear you.
I’ve learned to avoid workplaces that employ job titles like “team leader.” That and places that overuse acronyms.—“How is everyone coming along in their E.M.P.O.W.E.R. projects?” ….“eat me.”
:)

We actually have teams
or, we’re at least “supposed” to. I find myself filling in on the other teams more often than being on my own team though. In fact, because of a hiring freeze last year, I have not done anything with my team at all, since starting there, come to think of it.
Jeez. I’m mostly just glad to be gainfully employed right now.

I live in LA as well. Raiders fans disgust me, but Charger fans are a joke.
I am from KC originally. I gotta tell you bud, I hate Larry Johnson. When Piolt says, “We’re looking for big, strong, tough, smart, disciplined football players” Larry Johnson isn’t what he has in mind. Note the words “smart” and “disciplined.” LJ can’t stay out of trouble in Kansas City, a town with essentially no night life at all whatsoever. The biggest celebrity in KC is probably Larry Moore or maybe Jamie Farr if he’s doing a show at the New Theater.
What part of LA are you in? I discovered a great little BBQ place called The Kansas City Barbecue Company in North Hollywood. The owners are from KC and it’s about the only place in LA to get burnt ends. Like Jeremy Piven, I love sushi, but sometimes I need the burnt ends.

Used To Be..
there was a hot spot in downtown San Diego. It was the joint where they filmed a bit of the movie Top Gun, think it was called KC BBQ. It was good BBQ and they had Royals/Chiefs gear plastered all over the walls. I used to go there all the time just to enjoy the scenery and think back to my days of youth, that is, until it burned down. I was born and raised in a podunk town just East of Kansas City. It is called Buckner and I lived there for 24 years before joining the Navy. That brought me to SD where I’ve been since 1999. Yes, it’s hard living amongst these idiot Gay-der and Dolts fans, but I proudly sport my gear year round. I’ve had NFL Sunday Ticket for 5 years and love watching the games from the comfort of my own home. I travel back to KC at least once a year and you can bet your ass it’s during the season when the Chiefs play at home…

I’ve been going to this site for about a year now. I grew up in KC and have been a fan my whole life. I’m currently going to school in Dallas and have to deal with dumb Cowboys fans. I think I hate the Cowboys more than any team outside our division because it pisses me off how much they are overrated and have been deemed “America’s Team” by the press. By the way my former name on here was chiefsfan1384, I changed it because because it was obviously too generic. I love this site, none better on the web.

please just refer to me as Nanz or 808 if you’re ever calling me out or replying or whatever.
I don’t know why but it bothers me when people type out my whole screen name.
That being said. I’m the only Chief fan I know on my little island in Hawaii. We have TONS of Raider fans and I felt like being objective and decided to join Chief nation when I was 8 playing for the “Red Raiders” in pop warner. I’m 18 but I like to believe I know a thing or two about the offensive side of the ball considering I was a QB in high school and may continue to pursue that position in college.
I think I come off as offensive sometimes, please know that my comments are of the best intentions I just love to debate, especially when it comes to the draft or offense. Currently 18 and will be a Chiefs fan for the rest of my life. I look forward to some good convo.
P.S thanks for the shout out Woody =)

I’m originally form Joplin, Mo but currently live in Okinawa Japan and will be moving to Oklahoma City within the next 2 months. I’ve been a Chiefs fan my whole life, which is surprising as my entire family is Green Bay fans and I started watching football before I was influenced at school. I’m 34, born and raised in KC. I’ve been a fan siince the early 80s when they weren’t exactly great, but Stephon Paige was awesome! I’ve moved to the DFW area a couple years ago, and still follow the Chiefs with the NFL Ticket. I found this site this spring while trying to follow the news with the new regime and changes. Dallas news doesn’t really keep me up to speed with the Chiefs, so I love this site. I don’t think I’ve been this excited about a season since Montana came.
BTW, I hate the Cowboys and after all the crap I got all year…nothing was sweeter than the beat down the Eagles handed the boys….

Hi all. I’m 48 and live in El Paso. I was born and raised in central KS and have been a Chiefs fan since around ’69. I still have my Buck Buchannon and Willie Lanier cards that are quite worn, but mean the world to me. My 13 yr old son and I absolutely love the Chiefs, but we have never been to a game. I found and started posting on AP last year while in Iraq. I am retired military now working for the Army as a civilian. I really enjoy this site and all the posters. AP is the first thing I read every morning and the last site I read before bed, with a few sneak peaks during the day. Thanks all for your insites and entertaining comments. Hopefully the Chiefs will play in AZ in the near future and my son and I will get to see our first game.

I am originally from Grandview (E 113th and Jackson), then moved to P. Village (off of Tomahahk) and then to Charleston, SC (for Work, but I love the 60 degree winters). I grew up watching the Chiefs with my father on a 13 inch B/W TV in the basement, and the occasional trip to arrowhead to watch D. Cherry and A. Lewis play. Now I’m relegated to status of Visitor when the Chiefs Come to Carolina, Atlanta, or Jax.
Hoping to make it up in Nov for the Pitt game.

I’ve been a Chiefs fan since my stepdad took me to a game in 1990. From the moment I step foot on the parking lot at Arrowhead i was hooked! And i hadn’t even made it into the stadium yet!…lol. Arrowhead is my church, I try and make it to at least 3 games a season…and I’ll definately be up there for Red Friday and our Home Opener against the Gayders!!!!!

I have been visiting the site for about six months. I live in Springfield Mo. Leggett & Platt are one of my large customers. I am in Business equipment sales here in Springfield and I love me some Chiefs football.
I love the site. (even though I disagree with you guys about a lot of stuff) But that’s what makes it fun. It’s great to have some people to talk Chiefs with during the offseason. Nobody i work with is a football fan so It is nice to chat with people who are passionate about the Chiefs.
Can’t wait for the season to start. i don’t expect too much this year but, I am hopeful. I am stoked to see Cassell sportin the red and gold. Let’s hope he is as good we are expecting.

What’s up guys!! I’m from Raliegh, NC. Huge Chiefs fan, I’ve grown up watching the Chiefs! My dad and my older brother are huge fans and needless to say growing up around them has made me a HUGE fan! I found out about AP a few weeks ago and I have enjoyed reading all the posts and up to the minute reports. I knew I had to join! The last game I went to was this past year when the Chiefs played the Panthers. Everyone should remember the beating we took there. I remember having so much junk talked to me but my reply would always make me feel a little better. I would simply tell them that no matter what happens this year, if you do make it to the playoffs, Jake will choke and make your whole season a waste. A few months later I was watching that playoff game with a big smile on my face. : )

Patrick Allen AKA Paddy
WELL LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING MEAN GENE!
Sorry, Hulk Hogan started every sentence that way for about 15 years so I thought I’d give it a try. Go ahead try it. You can’t do it without laughing.
Anyway, I’m from Cleveland originally and now reside in Brooklyn, NY. I’m an actor and a writer and a phone answerer. I am a fan of all things Cleveland and Ohio except when it comes to NFL Football, I bleed red and gold. (and just a little bit or orange due to my roots)
I came on board at AP shortly after the season ended and I realized watching the Chiefs lose wasn’t nearly as painful as watching them not play at all. I began my AP career with a rousing post in defense of Herm Edwards and was appropriately slapped around by Don Pioli who kept asking me to call him UC. I have since seen the light and have been converted.
I am 25 and I meet with a group of local Chiefs fans in NYC’s Village Pour House to watch the games every Sunday. If you live in the area, let me know!

I’m 29, currently live in NW Alabama, but am from Upper-Michigan. Been a Chiefs fan for 17 years. Where I lived in Michigan, everyone was a Packer fan(including all my friends and family), but since Favre had trouble with the Chiefs, I always came out on top, until 2 years ago. I have a wife and a daughter(who I am grooming through playing Madden to be a Chiefs fan). If you ask her(currently 4y.o.) what team she likes, right now she says, “The Red One!” So, I’m close. 38 years old. I run a 6.5 40. Unrestricted Free Agent hoping for a call from Pioli.
I’ve been a Chiefs fan since I was old enough to know what a football was. I come by it naturally. My mother is a long time Red Coater and is well known at the stadium. She was the 1st recipient of the Visa Chiefs Fans Hall of Fame award. (Visa selects a fan from each NFL city, every year, to be enshrined in the VIsa Hall of Fans…a wing of the Hall of Fame in Canton) She has also won a lifetime achievement award from the Chiefs for her charity work as a Red Coater.
I was practically raised at the stadium. I rode Warpaint, sat on Hank Stram’s lap and pretended I was Art Still (favorite player) by sitting in front of his locker. I’ve had the opportunity to ride the Chiefs plane to an away game, watch games in Lamar Hunt’s suite and stand on the sidelines. I have been very blessed in my fandom.
I am a recent member of AP and love the site primarily for the passion of you fans. (Even when you’re wrong) I have strong opinions that may piss you off from time to time. But, I have nothing respect for those dedicated enough to follow the team we both love and brave enough to state their opinions.

I explained what was going on and he said come with me,so we followed ……….he was taking us to where L.Dawson calls the game’s to get some pic’s! On the way up we came to a corner and i ran right into T.G, almost knocked me down! So not being able to think right i said i was ok, shook his hand and forgot all about trying to get his signature for my son!! We saw T.Green too, so all in all we had a good time!

34 years old from St.Thomas Ontario Canada. I have 2 sons one is 13 & one is 1, the 13 year old is a Pats fan ( I don’t know how that happened ) I won’t let the same mistake happen again the 1 year old has sleepers, T – shirts & a jersey of the Chiefs. As you can tell my fav. number is 23 & has been ever since Barry Word rocked a jersey. It was also my High school # when we won the city championships way back in 1990. The last game I saw live was in Detriot in 1996 Thanksgiving Day we won, and Marcus Allen set a record. After that game when everyone was leaving Marcus came over to the sideline where I was to do an interview, I yelled & held out my jersey to be signed maker in the other hand. He heard me but the interview was starting so I waited, when it was over I called out to him again. ( by the way I was the only Chiefs fan around & he was within spitting distance) This time he turned around looked at me and ran into the tunnel. Ever since that day I have hated Marcus Allen & I always will. This is the best site ever & the people here are great!

Jim here, 64, a fan since the beginning.........
I have four kids and five grandkids, all Chief’s fans. In fact, many times we all get together to watch the games, wear our Chief jerseys, snacks and have fun. I probably haven’t missed viewing 10 games since they originally came to KC and I’ve seen a just a few games in person. I live in a suburb of Wichita and was in the USMC Reserves back in their earlier years and bet a buddy $10 buck in 1969 that they would win the Super Bowl. He was tired of me talking about the Chief’s all the time, so we made the bet and I collected. It’s been a fun ride and I’m really excited about all of the new enthusiasm. It’s about time. Thank you Clark Hunt for getting it started. (BTW, I have some neat Chief items: blankets, hats, etc. – including some autographed DT cards. And, I do not like the Cowboys as many have mentioned above. If any team deserves to be America’s team, it would be the Chief’s. They represent such a huge geographical area: Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, etc.)

Afternoon, from work
Texas Chief here (not TexasChief – that’s a different guy)
34 year old guy trapped in Garden Ridge, Texas. Born in Nebraska and raised just about anywhere in Kansas that someone from Texas can name. Miss my days as a season ticket holder driving all across the state every other Sunday to go to all the home games. 40 yardline seats in the middle of the lower tier. My tickets have been handed down to a relative still living in KC.
Been a Chiefs fan since I was old enough to know what “Red” looked like, and I won’t ever change teams. I’m a Chief for life. My ultimate dream growing up was to play MLB for the Chiefs. I played ball from the pee-wees through college, and played semi-pro football for 1.5 seasons before trashing my knee. The dream is dead, but the fandom will never die. I’m a defensive fan far and away above offense. I’d rather watch a game that ends in a score of 6 to 3 with 14 sacks, 11 interceptions, and 30 tackles for a loss combined than see a 54-45 race to the endzone blowout. The only time I don’t change the channel on an offensive blowout is when the Chiefs are in the game. Defense! Defense! Defense! Some folks around here have been kind enough to occationally take my word on some of the defensive finer points or the X’s and O’s of the D side of the ball.
I own a 3 location quick service franchise restuarnt business down here in Texas and spend my days driving from location to location and firing anyone that pisses me off that day. I pop onto AP at least 2 or 3 times a day when I get the chance, but do the bulk of my commenting and posting at night when i get home and into the wee hours. I tend to go offt topic occationally, and smart ass comments probably end up in my replies more than they should. Rest assured, they are ment to be funny or to make a point.
I was around AP (just reading not posting) for about 5 or 6 months on and off and 2 months of every day reading before I ever posted anything. I’m a relative “new guy” around here in terms of posting (I believe my first post was in December or January) but I have been made to feel very welcome by the AP community. Chris, Prime, and DJ run a top notch blog here at AP. Every blog would be so lucky to have guys like them righting the ship and doing the massive amount of research they do.
Welcome newcommers to AP. Your 1 stop shop for all things Chiefs.

I’m 19 years old I live in South Bend, Indiana. I’m a junior at Thomas Edison state college double majoring in history and audio production. Born and raised in KC and loved the Chiefs all of my life.
I’ve been a part of AP for almost a year. A lot more active during the regular season just too busy right now to do fun things.

Lanier63
My sad but true story, again. I was born in 1961 in Memphis, TN now living south of there in Mississippi.
After my scholastic crowning-achievement of being voted “Most Likely to Become a Fugitive”, I utilized my “world-class, collegiate-preparatory, Christian private education” to its full potential by bouncing around the circuit as a rodeo clown. Ultimately too large to fit hinto the barrel, I suffered a rather serious “workplace-related mishap” (severe blunt-force trauma to the posterior and subdural hematoma…sorry, too much CSI). After recovery, I took a non-accredited correspondence course in “shoe cobbling”; only to discover that everything in our credit-based consumptive economy was now “disposable” (including high-quality men’s & women’s dress shoes).
Ditching my non-refundable cobbler’s tools, I hired-on as a “roadie” for the “Starland Vocal Band”. Although counter to my Christian upbringing, I saw no problem in working for a band that glorified intercourse in broad daylight…as long as it didn’t lead to dancing. (Ironic, considering my frame of reference in school was that “teacher/student relations” were “within the norm”). Anyway, I was unaware that the lead singers were in the midst of a very nasty divorce; the result, no doubt, of their daylight shenanigans and doing the devil’s work through “bubble gum pop” bile. However, I digress; the first rule of fight club is never talk about fight club.
Known as “Mr. Burnt Sienna” (because no one wants to be “Mr. Pink”), I was then employed as a “contractor” for a large, family-operated business; the only work available for someone with no appreciable skills and a lot of “anger issues”.
After faking my own death, I then managed to get another roadie gig with the band “Paper Lace”; too naive to know that a group can only go so far with a Top Ten pop song about the “Prohibition Era”.
I moved to Roswell, New Mexico next, and started a jeep tour of the famous UFO crash site. I often have nightmares that I’m trapped in the gym watching a never-ending “Junior Miss” pageant. I was eventually cleared as a suspect of being the Unabomber. (The federal authorities said that it was impossible for me to have written the “Manifesto” due to my obsessive use of parenthetical asides (like right here) and “quotation marks” (like right “here”).) The feds were also quick to point-out that my “lame” non sequiturs would only be clever to someone with “A.D.D. and a significant amount of psychological damage”. A note to the home do-it-yourselfers: NEVER buy agricultural-grade ammonium nitrate, PVC pipes and an alarm clock, at the same time with a credit card.
Beginning to think my life was a perpetual Gordon Lightfoot “maritime disaster” song, I pursued an idea I had been thinking about for a few years: starting a new music genre; the fusion of “gangsta rap” and “jug band”…a new kind of music that captures the flavor of a Georgia canoe trip “gone horribly wrong” with the rich, “Afro-centric” culture that our nation so eagerly embraces. Tupac Shakir meets Grandpa Jones. Hee Haw on crack. After leaving a nearby “healthcare facility”, I bought a small recording studio in Bolivar, Tennessee and started my own label – Def Bubbaz Records. I also started my own group, “Dem Boyz 2 Phat”, where I rap under my street name, “Chunk E. Salsa”. (The vernacular becomes more tolerable with Wellbutrin). Some of our more popular songs include, “Mustard Green Blunts”; “Jimmy Smokes Crack (And I Don’t Care)”; “Cold Biscuits Again (I’ll Pop a Cap in You)”; “Ellie Mae B Fine (The New Ballad of Jed Clampett)”; “D.O.A. in Hickree Hilz”; “Homey, Does Yo ‘Pit’ Bite (No Playa No)”; “My Baby’s Momma’s Aunt’s Baby’s Baby (The Martha White Theme)”; “Foggy Mountain Breakin’ & Enterin’”; “There’s a Hole in My Abdomen (Dear Laniqua)”; and, “The Pina Colada Song(Dance Remix)”.
Life has certainly come full circle (or as “The No Children Left Behind” would say, 180 degrees). I’ve gone from being the poster boy for “Teenage Wasteland” (or as Elton John so eloquently put it, “a juvenile product of the working class”) to morphing, much to my complete and utter dismay, into my father (except for the ability to fix stuff)…one imperceptible increment at a time.
It seems that my “world-class, collegiate-preparatory, Christian private education” has reached its logical conclusion: the creation and nurturing of an anger-based gangsta-rapping rodeo clown. No, I didn’t get much out of school; simply because I didn’t put anything into it. If I had it to do all over again, I’d do things much, much different: I would learn just enough so I could solve crimes with math. Nevertheless, always in a state of unrepentant denial, I still fancy myself an irrepressible bohemian; an avant-garde; a misunderstood “enfant terrible”…as opposed to what most insist: “an idiot minus a village”. What a long, strange trip it’s been.
So thats how I came up with the name Lanier63. :)

KaloPhoenix
25 years old, 6’6", 210 pounds, 36" vertical…5 reps on the 225 bench (if I’m lucky) and a DNF on the 40 yard dash (distracted by beer).
Been a fan since I was old enough to say “Nigerian Nightmare”. My first game was in the 1990 season. I still remember to this day the sheer awesomeness of Okoye. After graduating college, I moved to KC and worked for a year and a half, with my first season tickets being in the 2007 season (unfortunately). I now live in Derby, KS, so my ability to be at the games/tailgates has been lessened, but I’m still there in spirit.
I stumbled across the site near the beginning of the year, so I’m definitely a rookie. I know a little about defenses, so I try to offer them now and again (sometimes at annoyingly great lengths), but hope to contribute to this excellent community as much as I can.

My crystal ball says that the Chiefs will not be drafting Aaron Curry. Their record at the end of 2009 will be 10-6. After witnessing the 2009 draft, their record will be 8-8.

Well…I was going to talk about my pro day numbers….but since everyone else has better numbers…I am just hoping my game tape speaks for myself…. In case you can’t tell who I am from the game tape…I’m the big guy getting tackled by the pee wee football team. I really improved over the summer and hoping to get a call for a try out. Granted I only averaged…2.7 yards per year ….but I think I can be an effective back up to the back up of the back up for the back who is backing up our running back.
Oh..yeah…I grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas…I am 28. I became a Chiefs fan at the tender age of 8. Derrick Thomas was my favorite player…I now live in Central Kansas and I am an instructor in the military…Oh yeah…I pretend to be a cowboy on the nights and weekends…but I am a full time Chiefs FAN!!!

Only posting on AP for a couple of months, bu a lifelong Chiefs fan. Born in Indepedence, but even growing up in Alaska, my buddies rooted for the Seahawks, and I wore Red.
Favorite Chief – Dan Saleamua! 6’0", 300lbs nose tackle dropping back in pass coverage!
Met my wife in college (CU Boulder), so she and her whole family are Bronco fans. Luckily, my boy is Chief faithful so I’m not alone in the house.
AP is a great site! My number one source of info on the Chiefs. I very much appreciate what you guys do and how faithfully you do it. Thank you very much!

Infrognito
38 yrs old, originally from NYC (grew up surrounded by Giants & Jets fans) Currently reside in North Bay, Ontario ( ugh! now surrounded by Idiot Hockey fans) I’ve been a Chiefs fan since about 1977, when i could grasp the game, Ironically enough, the Chiefs havent won the Superbowl since the year I was born….converted my mother to Chiefs fandom when her sweetheart, Joe Montana, signed with the team at the end of his career….. Favorite All-Time Chiefs: DT, Tony Gonzalez, Priest Holmes, Willie Roaf, and Tony Richardson…… in that order.
for the record, I predict we go 9-7 this year, and while that may not win the AFC west, I believe we’ll just make the wildcard round. Matt Cassel will throw for 3900 yds, 29 TD/14 INT, however he’ll be in the top 3 in the AFC when it comes to times sacked….I wish we had gone Offensive line earlier in the draft….

Sandpro, a Noob
I was born and raised in the KC area, I am now in the Air Force and have been stationed in St. Louis, Germany, Seattle, Iraq (twice) and now Biloxi.
My Chiefs fanaticism runs deep. My first game at Arrowhead was back when you could buy a lower-deck end zone ticket the morning before a noon game. My Grandpa took me and handed me his binoculars telling me, "Watch the OL, that’s where the game is won or lost." we won.
I was at DT’s sack record setting game (DAMN YOU DAVID KRIEG!!)
I was at the frigid playoff loss to Indy (DAMN YOU LIN ELLIOTT!!)
I was at the playoff loss to Denver (DAMN YOU ELVIS GRBAC!!)
I saw DT strip Elway countless times.
I was proud when the Chiefs destroyed the Bills and Montana beat the Broncos on Monday Night.
I was ashamed when the Chiefs melted down on Monday Night.
I loved the Tomahawk Chop, Neil Smith’s home run sack celebration, Mighty Mouse’s flex, Priest’s slide into the end zone, and Tony G’s dunk.
I hated Rison’s Spiderman routine.
I loved watching Derrick, Neil, Dale and James introduced before the game as individuals under Marty, and the Offense introduced as a unit under Vermeil.
I wished Carl had left and Marty had stayed.
I love the Chiefs.
I dislike the Chargers.
I hate the Broncos.
I despise the Raiders.
I cried when 58 died.

Hey
I’m a Chiefs fan in upstate New York. As a kid, I liked Joe Montana, and so when he went to the Chiefs I started pulling for them. Well, then he retired, and I kind of just stuck with the Chiefs and eventually became a diehard fan. I’ve been able to see them in person once, in Buffalo, but unfortunately J.P. Losman tore us up that day. Someday I’ll make it to a game at Arrowhead.
I found this site when the Chiefs were going through all their big offseason changes and I was starved for information. I joined up and started posting a couple weeks ago.

It’s not Chiefs related but it’s my handle, always has been. I included this on my SB profile because I love how I became a fan:
How I became a fan:
First off, born in Manhattan, KS; raised in Colorado. When I was in the 2nd grade everyone was all about the donkeys because they were on their way to lose a super-bowl. I was told by my teacher I was supposed to go for the donkeys because they were my home team. My reaction was f—- that, I was born in KS I’m a Chiefs fan. Even as a small child I knew better! That year the donkeys lost to the Giants.
I am 30, I just moved to the L.A. area (Marina del Rey). I have not met any football fans out here, everyone likes the Lakers or Dodgers. I was raised in Colorado and that is a rough place to grow up a Chiefs fan.
Like ROC I am a fan of LJ, mostly because of how he has thumped the Broncos so many times (same reason I still love Dante Hall I guess). I have only been to one Chiefs game at Mile Hi Stadium and the Chiefs got whooped on a very cold day in December. I would love to see them in San Diego and I would also like to see a game at Arrowhead some day (ideally against the Broncos where we would pretty much have the best game ever).
There's always next week,,, and when we run out of weeks, there's always next year!

I knew this guy who always said the same thing when the Broncos would lose “Someone must have paid Elway to throw the game”. Seriously, the fans are why I hate the donkeys so much.

Hey all- I’ve been around the site for the last few years.
I currently live in Des Moines, IA and was born and raised a Chiefs fan in Topeka, KS.
I credit my dear-departed grandmother, the wife of a football coach, for my extremely early love of the game and my belief that success lies in the heart of the team- on the line.
I like to think outside the box when it comes to the business side of the game- pulling for oddball trades and rooting for the underdog free agent. Thus I sometimes lob up an oddball post or suggestion (see my LJ for Leinart trade suggestion earlier this year) to see what the reaction will be.
I also am a fan of execution. It’s an area that I feel Herm let go… sloppy route running, missed assignments, and terribly reactive defense… all pathetic execution of their duties/responsibilities on the field. Play like this can get my vitriol up pretty high.
That said… After suffering through the Bill Kinney years growing up, and the recent demise of my favorite team at the hands of Vermiel (last years), and Herm (whom I still contend should never have been hired), I’m looking forward to the new regime and while I know it will take a couple of years to build, I’m excited to see my team fighting with grit and passion on every play- hungry to bring us another Superbowl trophy.

Found this site last summer and joined in November. Born and raised in KC. I lived in the Northland (turned into some place called Zona Rosa) and was dragged to Minnesota by a ball and chain about 4 years ago. In the contract for the move I was guaranteed DirecTV (NFL Ticket) and the basement was mine! I now live in a Red & Gold basement with my 12’ mural I painted, shelves full of Chiefs stuff (autographed Priest Holmes football, autographed Dick Vermeil mini helmet, autographed Christian Okoye card in a plaque, picture of me around 2 yrs old ‘1975’ in Chiefs clothes with a helmet and football….)

Hey everyone. I’m pretty new around here as well. Just began posting, although I have been reading the site for sometime. I’m 23, and one of the few Chiefs fans I know of from the small state of Delaware. I am actually currently working in Boston, and I was one of the many fans in New England last season when we first witnessed our new quarterback start to play. I’m 6’4, 235lb, former small college TE, and had a few other loyal Chiefs fans staying close to me as we left Gillette stadium for protection after we took out Brady. I used to love to sport my alternative charcoal color Gonzalez jersey to all games, but now it looks like I will have to change that.
Being Delaware does not have any professional teams, I began rooting for KC back when Rich Gannon, representing the U of D, was with them and been a loyal fan since. I look forward to the Chiefs making their East coast visits this season to Baltimore, Philly, and Washington, all of which I plan to attend.

Yo, AP.
29 years old, Chiefs fan for all of it, born into it, my old man had season tickets for awhile and was at the double OT Dolphins, Christmas Day playoff game.
7 year season ticket holder. At the ‘Head every Sunday morning at 7:30 during the season waiting in line to tailgate. Bitter we can’t at least get a 3 pm start. Bought the seats as soon as I had a gig out of college, lived off the plaza but moved to Blue Springs when I got married. Wife just had our 3rd kid in 3 years…and now I’m the proud owner of a vasectomy. Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it :)
Sales pay the bills, I travel quite a bit for the job, I also get to negotiate, both I love, expense reports, I hate.
I enjoy arguing, and people that have original opinions. Even though I’m generally pretty positive, compared to most posters on AP, I’m probably considered pretty negative.
I have a strong passion for bourbon, and you won’t find me at Arrowhead (or Kaufmann, or…) without a flask.
Played LB (#56) in HS and D-II college until my knee decided it had had enough, perhaps not coincidentally, this is about the time I discovered bourbon.
And if you don’t know, now you know…

I’m a huge Chiefs fan from a small town in Southern Illinois (just over the river from St Louis)
Back in the really early 90s, my uncle, who lives in KC, took me and my best friend to a Chiefs game (about age 11). And we saw Okoye score a touchdown, Smith and Thomas make plays on defense and we have been shitting arrowheads ever since.
And now we make at least 1 road trip to KC every year.

• not sure why I chose the screen name. just one of those things where you read a post here, and want to leave a comment, but you have to register first. so when thinking of a screen name, i just threw out some random letters & numbers never assuming I’d ever come here again. but when I was looking for any news I could find on who the chiefs might hire as a GM earlier this year, I kept coming back to this site. Now it’s one of about three sites I visit at least daily. if I had to do it all over again, I’d have chosen a more well-thought-out screen name like “UnfrozenCavemanLawyer” or something cool like that.
• 25 years old from St. Joseph, MO. Became a chiefs fan when I was 8 years old (1991 season) when I started watching the games with my dad. It’s a very surreal feeling going from a child having your dad answer all your questions about football, to 17 years later, you find yourself having to explain things going on in the league to him. :)
• First Chiefs game I attended was September 28, 1992 (no, I didn’t look that up, I actually have a knack from remembering dates). It was a monday night game against the Oakland Los Angeles Raiders. Eric Dickerson – well past his prime, but still amazing – was playing for the raiders and, I believe in their first possession bolted through the line and ran for a 50-yard TD. I was devasted, but fortunately that was the last time they would score the rest of the night. we won 27-7.
• My second favorite team is the Seattle Seahawks (I determined this as a young’n BEFORE I understood the significance of division rivalries). Mostly because I’ve always liked their colors and Seattle is probably my favorite major city of all the ones I’ve visited. Not 100% sure why.
• Other than NFL, I’m not a major sports fan in the sense that I don’t “follow” other leagues on a day-to-day basis. I like the Royals and enjoy going to games, but not a big baseball guy. Love the Boston Celtics (ever since I was a kid and saw that episode of Cheers where Cliff & Norm went to Boston Garden). I HATE college sports. I’ve tried and tried and tried and just can’t get into it. I know that college is where the pros come from, but the when they play the 10-second highlight reel of the guy the Chiefs just picked at the Draft, I’ve had my fill of watching college football for the year. ;)
• Random NFL opinion: I hate show-boating and over grandiose endzone celebrations, etc and the players who help to encourage it (chad johnson, terrell owens, deion sanders, etc). It takes away from the “team” mentality AND it expels energy that the player could otherwise harness and use when he gets back on the field. That being said, i DON’T believe the NFL should be legislating whether or not is allowed, so much as players should be coached to show some class. I have just as much respect for Marcus Allen as a talented player as I do to the fact that when he entered the endzone, he handed the ball to the official and calmly walked off the field. That’s what good sportsmanship is all about.
• I work for the cable company in advertising. i shoot and edit many of the cheesy local commercial spots people see on TV.
• I listen to all different kinds of music.
• Hello, AP Nation.

I got into football when my Oregonian cousin introduced me to his favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers (the ‘other’ red and gold) featuring Joe Montana and Jerry Rice in the late ’80s.
After adopting the 49ers as my own and cheering them to a Super Bowl victory way back when, I came over to the Chiefs when Joe Montana did and have been a fan of the team ever since. I’ve followed the Chiefs through the end of the Schottenheimer era, through Cunningham, the Vermiel years, and was one of the apparently few fans of Herman Edwards.
When I’m not bleeding Red and Gold, I’m bleeding Crimson and Blue.
Odd facts about me:
1) I’m a government employee so, most of the time when I’m posting here, you’re paying me to do it (and, thus, I try to keep it to a minimum).
2) I love football, but I’ve never played it outside of friendly games at Thanksgiving. My first experience actually in the game was coaching a kids’ flag football team to a Herman Edwards-esque 2-7 record last fall.
3) I also almost ran over Herm prior to the start of the 2008 season when he was jogging along one of the backroads at the stadium and I was distracted by my kid in the backseat. Had I not swerved at the last second, last season might’ve gone very differently.
So, there you go. That’s me. Glad to be here.

Ben S
Formerly known as Ben on the old AP. I’m from calgary alberta and have been a chiefs fan since morten anderson gave me a tour of the locker room when i was about 13. I hardly ever talk on this site, but I like to think of myself as a veteran because there are only a few guys that have been on this longer than I have (where the hell has MAWK been, anyways?). I have only ever been to a Chiefs game twice, however both were blowout wins against the Rams and Lions.
As for myself, I go to the univeristy of lethbridge, and I am also a badminton coach as well as the defensive coordinator for my old highschool team (11-1 last year!).

I meant to type in my name as bigben77…but somehow i clicked out of the field and pressed enter, thus i am now “bigbe”.
22 years old, senior at Washburn University. Born and raised in OP, KS. I am a “lifer” i have loved the chiefs since i can remember. Even the one year i lived in Denver i made a point to wear my joe phillups jersey to school as often as possible. This really pissed off John Elway’s daughter Jordon who was in my 3rd grade class. Especially when i wore it the tuesday after Joe Montana threw the winning touchdown to willie davis in Mile High on Monday Night Football.
I like to just comment most of the time. However, i have been known to strike if somebody is talking out of their ass. Especially when it comes to defensive strategy or defensive line play, both of which i know a whole lot about.

Well my name is Josh and I am from KC...
So that is pretty much how I picked my name, pretty clever I know. I am almost 25 years old and I have lived in Kansas City since I was 4…so I guess I am actually from Oklahoma where I was born but JoshFromOklahoma doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.
I have been a Chiefs fan for as long as I can remember, I remember saving up money to buy a cheesy gold chiefs helmet necklace just for the Joe Montana card that came with it. I do have a confession to make and I am not proud of it. For the 2002 season I actually rooted for the Raiders…actually it was more for Rich Gannon because I hated how we did him and I thought he was a great QB. It was probably more because my fiance had just broken it off with me for no real apparent reason and I figured my life was over anyways…
Thankfully I saw the light and have never turned back after that hiccup (we all have regrets right?) I actually didn’t go to my first game until just a couple years ago and every game I have ever sat down and watched at Arrowhead the Chiefs have lost. But I did have the chance to work as an usher for 2 seasons with the Chiefs so I basically got paid to watch the games and the most memorable was against the Falcons when we set the record for rushing TDs with Priest Holmes, that was awesome.
I got my degree in Business and work at a fulfillment/marketing center in North Kansas City…I am in a bowling league that just started and we get Chiefs home opener tickets at the end and I can’t wait to finally see the Chiefs win at Arrowhead.
I think that is about it for now, I am supposed to be working.
Boomer Sooner!
and
Go Chiefs!

I’ve been a Chiefs’ fan since Hank Stram spoke to me in a shoe shop on Cleveland Ave just south of Meyer Blvd near Southeast High School in KC. His immortal words to me were, “Hello, young man.” I was 15 and listening to him speak to the man who took good care of his “Johnston & Murhpy’s”…it was around ‘65. Today I live in Birmingham AL and am trying to get as many Chiefs’ fans as I can. I’ve taken groups of men to off-Sunday games like Thurs and Mon – we’ve been to Baltimore, Oakland, KC, Nashville. I found AP about 2 months ago and now I check it everyday. I’m looking forward to a better year in 2009!

I have been a Chiefs fan since I can remember, always choosing my Pop-Warner jersey #s based on who my favorite Chief was at the time. I’m almost 23 years old and currently live in Lawrence while I finish my undergrad in Philosophy. I grew about 20-30 minutes south of OP and have legitimately ended more than one relationship over the revelation that I was unwittingly dating a Bronco or Raider, something I may have to learn to live with (I’m not optimistic, there are some things you just can’t forgive) when I move out just west of Denver to test my luck at scoring a Ski Patrol job next January (getting the necessary EMS certs before I go). At least it’ll give me a chance to see what it’s like to watch my team from a very hostile environment though right?
My dad has had season tickets to Arrowhead since the beginning of Marty Ball and I can’t remember a season where I didn’t attend at least one game, if not several (fewer seats than family members is a great way to teach kids how to share by the way, gotta love letting your kids fight it out over who gets to go to the Raiders game and who goes to the Broncos game!). This year I’m going to be at the home opener, and our games against Denver, SD, and Dallas, just look for the tattooed guy in a Hali jersey on the Away side of the stadium.

24 year old Chiefs fan from Junction City, KS, currently within 2 weeks from graduating with a degree in English Education from Union College in Lincoln, NE. I spent a year living overseas in Kenya, working as a student missionary. In my time there, I managed to listen in on every Chiefs game from the miserable 2005-2006 season (and then watch them 2 weeks later when my mom mailed me the tape). No biggie, because we were 8 hours ahead—only when the Chiefs played at night (once or twice that season) did my schedule get thrown off.
In the next 2 months, I will be moving out of my apartment, moving in with my fiance, selling off all my possessions (including my car, bed, computer, and home entertainment system, graduating from college, working 2 jobs full-time, packing up again, moving to Indianapolis (wedding locale), flying back to Kansas to pack up my house, flying back to Indianapolis, getting married, honeymooning in Cabo, flying back to Indy, packing up what’s left of our possessions, and flying to Taiwan to teach English for 2 years.
If that sentence exhausts you, you have a 1% idea of what my life is about to be like. Good news: A Slingbox should allow me to easier watch Chiefs games… at 1 am (for noon kickoffs).

Hello everyone! I´m from São Paulo, Brazil and I have been a chiefs fan since the begining of the transmitions here over 15 years ago. Here in Brazil, as far as I know, there are only a few hundreds chiefs fans, so I´m very proud to be a part of a very special and selective group. Football is growing exponentially here, so I believe the Chiefs is about to add some new fans in a few years and I trying to make my patr in this change.
Thank´s to everyone that collaborate charing news and opinions about the Kansas City Chiefs.

Recently lost my job for writing an article about Matt Cassel and his wife right here on AP. Some of you may remember. Here it is if you missed it: I do realize why I was fired, even though at the time I never thought it would do any harm. By the way it WAS all true. Apparently a fellow AP member tattled on me to the big bosses over at Loch Lloyd after reading the article. Oh well, I’m over it whoever you were. :)

I get the fact that we all are responsible for our posts and the person that did that probably justifies it in their own head, but it doesn’t make it right. They contributed to having a fellow Chiefs fan/AP contributor lose income.
Regardless of some of the hot debates on AP we all want a common goal and that’s a Chiefs Lombardi trophy, so we’re all on the same team as a community regardless of our opines.
That post on AP wasn’t up for long and that link pretty much copied the post word for word, which we’ve been asked not to do on here from other news sources. Having said that I don’t understand the legal ramifications, if any. I’m just making an observation.
However, let me stipulate again, the individual that copied that information (especially since it no longer is a part of this board) should really look in the mirror and ask themselves if in the end it was really worth it.

Fact is I intruded on Matt and his wife’s privacy. I was told over and over again this is a PRIVATE country club.
As ignorant as I may have sounded, I was under the impression celebrities have to deal with this all the time. I didn’t think Matt wouldn’t come back simply because a server there is a big fan of his. Unfortunately Loch Lloyd management did.
If anything I thought Loch Lloyd might get positive interest in the club, since the club is going through tough times. Unfortunately Loch Lloyd didn’t.
Management was so sure this would get back to Matt and his wife somehow, but I didn’t think that was true at all. What do you think? Did Matt read my article?

(sorry about the triplicate post)
First, let me say that I’m sorry to hear about losing your job and I hope that if you haven’t already, you find a job soon that you truly enjoy and look back and think one day that you were much better off leaving.
Secondly,I don’t know for sure if it got back to Matt. If it really bothers you that you may have intruded on his privacy or offended him or his wife, might I suggest a HAND-written letter to him at Arrowhead. Let me add, that it should only indicate that you hope you hadn’t intruded on his privacy and explain your enthusiasm as a Chiefs fan and a Cassell fan. Don’t offer excuses, it makes the intent look bad…I think you get my ghist.
Third, I get where you’re coming from in regards to celebrities. The problem I had with the whole incident is that :
a) the post wasn’t up for long at all -ergo, I don’t think he saw your original post (just speculating).
b) whoever did this, copied and pasted what you wrote and I anticipate someone let the folks at Loch Loyd in on it. Probably did a follow-up directly with them that tipped them off.
Lastly, I think that there are a lot of folks here even within the org. that read AP albeit they don’t make it known.
UC posted a link about reporters after a comment I made. I basically relayed something my Uncle once said:

5 things I’ve learned from AP:
1. Significant info regarding the Chiefs ends up here within milliseconds of being made public.
2. Chris and Primetime07 run an amazingly tight ship here.
3. If you heard about a guy who’s friends with a KC real estate agent who sold a house to Bill Cowher, you should probably keep that one under your hat.
4. Thoughtful analysis in the form of charts and graphs attract us like moths to a flame but be ready for constructive criticism.

KC Fanatic
Greetings, “My name is Ted and I’m a Chiefs fan”. I have been a fan since I was 6 way back in ‘69. I was just becoming interested in sports and the Chiefs were on their Super Bowl run, and We were getting a brand new baseball team, a very exciting time for a 6 year old in KC. I grew up 5 blocks from where Arrowhead is and used to get yelled at by the contractors building both stadiums, for riding our bikes where they were working. I’m a Die Hard fan of both the Chiefs and the Royals, I stayed true during the dark and lonely 80’s
I’m retired from the Navy but took my Chiefs fan support with me, the 3 years I lived in japan confused many of the locals as to why I would be yelling at my radio, or out in the yard flying my Chiefs flag. I Now live in Picayune, MS. (where the hell is that?) It’s one hour north of New Orleans and an hour away from Gulfport, MS.
I crashed a Saints draft day party this year wearing my D.T. #58 jersey, and brought my Chiefs Helmets with me to keep on the table (current and throwback). I started reading here about a month ago and started posting yesterday making this my third post.
As far as I know I’m all alone in the area as far as Chiefs fans go but I do happen to have a Donkey fan in town to give grief to along with a ton of Saints fans (as long as they are winning, when they are losing can’t find a fan any where) I hope and pray that this season is as good as I think it can be ( I’ll settle for a .500 season compared to the last one) But if not, I’[ll still be the same die hard Chiefs fan.
is it me? or isn't about time the Lamar Hunt trophy belonged to His team?

No wonder I have so much trouble understanding the language. It’s the same with my kids. Sometimes when they are talking I just have to stop them and say, OK now, slow down so that I can try to understand you. Mostly, it’s the slang.

I think I am one of the few chic’s on this site…I will admit I have been coming here for probably at least a year, but never signed up or commented until recently. I have learned soooo much about football thanks to you guys! Not that the husband hasn’t done the best he can , but since this is all I do at work every day, I think I have learned more :) Anyway-I was born & raised a Pack Fan, not really too hard core though. Then I met my (future) husband at the tender age of 16 & he introduced me to the greatness that is the Chiefs. Since then I have fallen in love with the game. I am going to get to go to my very 1st NFL game this year, of course at Arrowhead.
I wish I could contribute more to the site, but I don’t think I know enough yet about everything to really make a post that makes sense…
The hubby also visits this site everyday, but he does it at work so he can’t log in or comment or anything & we don’t have internet at home. We currently live in a teeny tiny town in Central IL.
I just wanted to also say thanks to all the regulars on here-I read every bit of every post or fanshot & you guys are great!

Husker'n'Chief
I am a 23 year old Public Relations major at Rockhurst University, with a minor in International Business. I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, grew up there, and then moved when high school started to Shawnee, Kansas. I played hockey for 15 years, baseball for 12, football for 5 and boxing for 6. If I wasn’t in college, I would have taken a few contracts offered to me to play baseball for a few D-1 schools. I also had the chance to play junior hockey in Canada, but being the idiot I am, I chose to go to college. When I moved to Kansas, I actually despised the Chiefs, one because I am a die hard Husker fan and only knew college football, and two because I had to take shit from everyone at my high school and they were Chiefs fans, so I was hoping they would always lose so I could shove it in their face. Went off to my first college in Missouri and all I heard were Rams fans, so I started following the Chiefs to make some competition. I fell in love and have been on here for a couple months, previously on the Star chat room which is a joke. I am usually up late due to my insomnia and work load for school, so feel free to stay up and keep the chat going.

41 year old Chiefs fanatic. Husband and father of 3 sports kids. Played college basketball and had 2nd sports career in mid 30s cycling. Made it to the Olympics in 04. Former attorney, now teach mindset and do inspiration and life coaching work to help people take control of their life (despite circumstances) to become the person they want to be I use my own story of vision loss and blindness to help people reach their full potential.
I lived in Kansas City from 1990-93 with first job out of college (before significant vision loss). Went to tons of Chiefs games and became a fan for life. Since then have gone to Chiefs games around country depending on where we lived, planning vacations in cities where Chiefs played, etc. Planning on going to 1st gamein Baltimore this year and game against Redskins in Washington DC.

I am 35 and in the Army. Stationed at FT Leavenworth but moving to FT Hood next month. I was in Iraq during the great 2003 season so I missed all the games. I have been a Chiefs season ticket holder the last two years. It’s been painful, but its always fun to go to the games live. I have been a Chiefs fan since 1980 when the Chiefs had Gary Barbaro, Gary Spani, Ted McNight, and Steve Fuller.
This is hands down the best site for Chiefs information.

I haven’t been to church in years but I can carry a tune. Born in Missouri. Was a St. Louis Cardinals football fan but got ticked when they moved to Arizona. I’m a college grad., living in Topeka Ks. now. I’m a hard core Chiefs fan. I’m retired and thinking about moving to Costa Rica, so I’m trying to figure out how to get a live feed of all the Chiefs games and plan to watch them early Sunday morning under the palm trees with a bucket of Dos Equis.
I love the AP. Really up to the minute coverage. I can’t get enough. Its great! Go Chiefs!

Introductions from Round Rock TX
First time in my life trying this blogger thing. I thought that a lot of the posters here were young Chief fans. And most know tons more than I do about my team. Must be the internet. I lived in KC until ‘65 (bigger A’s fan than Chiefs then) before moving to Illinois and NO news about the Chiefs there. My earliest memory of being a Chief fan and I was among all Da Bears fans and Packers fans. Super Bowl I (as it is known by now) was a great time until I had to go to school and hear it from the Cheese Heads. My time came a couple years later when we whomped the Bears/Packers rival. It has been a long time, longer than some of the AP’ers have been alive. Man, I am glad to have found this site. Last year (my first year really using the internet) I checked the Gretz for my news, now it’s AP two or three times daily. Sorry for the long comment. Don’t know what will happen when I click ‘post’ but here goes. Do be too harsh, I have thin skin for a 300# er.

Hi, my name is Chris,
I am 27 and from Murrita, Ca but now living in St. Joseph, Mo. I have been a Chiefs fan from the fist football game I can rember seeing. It was the Chiefs against the Redskins back in the mid 80’s. The Redskins had all 3 of there QB’s go down do to injury in the game. The Last one late in the forth quarter with the Readskins trailing. They put a RB in for the QB and ran a boot leg for him. He scored a TD and the Chiefs lost. I dont know way but I have been a Chiefs fan ever since.

Other Side of the Pillow
Just added AP to my list—
I’m 33 years old, and have been a Chiefs fan since I first drew breath. My earliest memories of the Chiefs involve getting my Chiefs cards from the KCPD in my neighborhood, Bill Kenney, Gary Spaini and (sadly) Joe Delaney.
I was fortunate to be field level for several Chiefs games as a member of the CMSU Marching Mules… I got to witness a particularly excellent TD pass from Joe Montana to Lake Dawson in the east endzone…
I also was fortunate enough to spit on the Old Mile High before they opened Invesco. :)

rockchalk (TWSS)
Hey all. My name is Cory.
I’ve been a member of this site for around 2.5 years, including way-back-when when there was 20 FanPosts (or diaries, as they used to be known) a month (3 months?), not a day. Back then, I used to be referred to by “thatswhatshesaid”, or TWSS for short.
I’m 17, and live out in Southern California. I grew up in Kansas City, though, which is where the Chiefs’ love comes from. My first Chiefs memory was watching Tamarick Vanover return a kickoff for a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills perched atop my dad’s shoulders, Opening Day 1996 (I think). The next year, I distinctly remember two moments that have forever defined my Chiefs’ fandom: Pete Stoyonavich nailing the 56-yarder to beat the Broncos in freezing weather (again, on top of my dad’s shoulders), and watching Tony Gonzalez’ knee oh-so-clearly come down in bounds, only to see it be ruled out in the playoffs against the hated Broncos (this time from the TV). I was 6 at the time, but I still remember getting mad at the situation.
Anyways, I’m a diehard. I’m not terribly active on this site, as it has grown far too large for me to read everything (unless I just wanted to give up everything else I do on the internet), and I’m a seasonal type of person. Right now, it’s baseball season, so I’m a frequenter over at Royals Review. And, of course, I run the local Kansas Jayhawks SB Nation site, Rock Chalk Talk. Come fall, I should be around here a lot more often. Until then, have fun.
Going back to personal things…I am planning on attending Xavier University in the fall, so we’ll see how that goes. I’m excited to get back to the Midwest (I moved away when I was 11), and can’t wait for all of those cold winters.

Hey Guys, I’ve been reading these posts for a few months now and its interesting to learn more about everybody. I’m a 35 year old construction manager and a diehard KC fan. I’ve lived in Indiana my whole life (right outside of Chicago) so I’m surrounded by mostly Bear fans. My wife and I go to training camp every year and try to get to Arrowhead at least once a year if not more. A while back I posted a fanshot with a video of a room I built in my home that is totally dedicated to the Chiefs, if you get a chance check it out. I’m glad I found this site, not only does it give great information it’s also pretty damn entertaining!!! Thanks

Chiefs Fan Stuck in Dallas....
I am new to the board but am a huge Chiefs fan…in my media room at home I have three TV’s going at once on Sunday with the NFL Sunday ticket. The middle TV 72 inch HD is reserved for Chiefs games….on the smaller 20 inch screens to the right and left are either the Broncos (who i hate) the Chargers(who I hate even more because they fired Marty) or the Raiders (who just suck!). I have raised my two kids well both are chiefs fans in spite of never having lived in KC. I work for Westwood One.

KC Nate
Yea I know real original, right? Hehe.
I’m Nate, 16 from Quad Cities Iowa, living on the Mississippi River. Surrounded by Bears, Packs, Vikes, and Colts followers. One day I will get to be on the other end of the laughing…. Get my chief love from dad and grandfather. Love the chiefs a ton, plus they wear my favorite colors. Only got to see a few minutes of Chief football last year, 2 mins at the end of the Miami game and the Denver game we won. I loved Thigpen, I wished we didnt get Cassel, and maybe just waited for Sam Bradford :) My favorite game has to be the nail biter against the Colts 2 or so years ago. It was real close all they to the end, we eventually lost by a FG, I was rubbin it all in my friends face who was a Colts fan, irregardless that we lost that we sucked and almost beat them, he was upset lol. I’m planning on trying out for my football team here at my high school for the OL or DL (I’m 5’7, 215 lbs, I’m a big boy lol). Our team sucks really, we are lucky to win more than 2 games a year, but we are improving. Hoping I might be able to make something of it and who knows play for my very own Chiefs? Ahh well a kid can dream right? I plan to go to college for Criminal Justice and/or Prosecution Attorney. Well that’s me! :)

Live in Seattle these days but I grew up in Lawson MO and been Chiefs fans since 70s. Of course, back in those days you had to also have a sort of secondary fave team! I officially boycotted the Herm years. I knew he’d be a big mistake. Why give a draft pick for a worthless coach being run out of town by Jets fans? And, we knew he was going to try to install a 1930’s style offense.
Anyway, I don’t think there are any Chiefs fans here! Anyone?? I did actually see a bunch of Royals hats at their games here last year so perhaps there are some.

Another Chiefs Fan from Carthage, MO!
I’m 28 years old and currently serving in the Army. I’ve been a Chiefs fan ever since I can remember. I served in Iraq during the 2003-2004 season when the Chiefs went 13-3. We finally got a satellite up by the Baltimore game that year and I was up at 3am every Monday morning to watch the games!
I’ve been visiting this site for about 6 months now, and I check it at least 20 times per day. My wife thinks I have an addiction to AP and I need help…..but she just doesn’t understand! Lol.
I’ve been to exactly 5 Chiefs games in my life, with the last one being in 2005. I just haven’t had the chance to go lately. The Chiefs are 5-0 when I am at Arrowhead, so if anyone wants to donate season tickets to help out this year I’m all for it! ;-)

I’m also one of the few around here that uses my first name (and last initial) as a username.
I’m 22 years old, and currently live in Hays, KS, although I was born 2 hours southwest of here in Garden City. I’m a senior in college but I’ll be undergrad for at least two more years because the university is going to cut my major (Music Technology) completely. So, I’m still trying to figure out if I can afford to transfer and move somewhere else, or if I need to change majors for the third time. This whole school thing just isn’t going well for me.
I’ve been a Chiefs fan for as long as I can remember, and my first clear memories of the Chiefs are of Marcus Allen and Derrick Thomas. I’ve never been to a game, nor has anyone else in my family, but I’d love to go someday.
Oh, and I’ve been around for a while, but I don’t comment all that much. I find that by the time I check in to AP, someone else has posted the article I wanted to post, or someone has stolen the thoughts from my head and commented them already. (Get out of my head, AP!)

stenerud's roost
my seats the first time i saw the Chief’s live at old Municipal Stadium. I was six and sat behind the goal posts in “stenerud’s roost” watching Johnny Robinson,Bobby Bell, Curley Culp, Lanier, Buck Buchanan, Emmitt, Lenny, Otis. Best game, Christmas Day 1971 v. Miami. Blew off presents (this is big for a 9 year old) to watch the Chiefs lose in 2OT and Podolak rack up 350.
FF – took my three daughters and my granddaughter to the draft last Saturday. The Don came out and said he hadn’t planned to address the crowd but when he arrived early that morning, he couldn’t believe that tailgaters had already fired up their grills and were decked out in their jerseys. Lobes
I’ve been on here for about a year, but am kind of quiet during the offseason. I finally figured how to keep up with the site so I’ll pop in more often, but the Royals are my passion until September. I grew up a Chiefs fan in Carrollton, MO, the biggest town in a worthless county. Never been to a Chiefs game, but haven’t missed one since DeBerg was quarterback.
I got my nickname while not getting laid in Rolla, MO where I wasted four years drinking myself into a stupor. I somehow found a girl in Rolla, and piggybacked my way out of town and now reside in St. Louis, the asshole of Missouri (no literally, the Missouri takes its dump in St. Louis). I probably will never contribute anything glorious to this site as I spend my time writing longer pieces on random stuff to which Mr. Pickering would say: “What kind of man calls himself a writer? I’ll tell you what kind the homosexual.”
You say something like, "Is that it?" I know what you`re trying to say. You`re trying to say, "Aww yeah, that`s it." Then you tell me you want some more. Well...I`m not surprised. But I`m quite sleepy.

Wow, I went there my freshman year but transferred the heck out after. Good school but couldn’t take the lack of ladies. I just remember going to frat parties (pretty open to anyone at least in those days) and as soon as you walked in you would see 2 big crowds of guys. One crowd was around the girl, the other around the keg!

Always late to the party, it seems, but some of y’all know why, this time.
Misfit, troublemaker, and general nuisance. Grew up a fan of the Vikings, but soured over the Trade From Hell, and ignored the NFL altogether for a number of years (still, I’m glad that JA went to a good team, at this point). Been in KC for about 16 years, and been a fan nearly that loong – one season is all it took.
Y’all may rely on me to toss random junk into random threads, to generally provide a POV that makes no sense at all, to BBQ various critter-parts, and to cheer the Chiefs on Sundays.
Cassel vs. Thigpen in Camp should improve the play of both.
Next on the need list: linebacker, and both lines

20-year-old female
and diehard Chiefs fan since the day I was born in Lawrence, KS. I was raised there for 10 years until I moved to Shawnee, KS. I moved to Arizona roughly 8 months ago.
I’m currently employed at McDonald’s as I attempt to make my way through college. I’m pursuing a career in criminal justice.
My best friend ridicules me for being a girl whose life revolves around music, movies, gaming, blogging, and sports.
I will most likely remain single the rest of my life unless my potential husband is as diehard a Chiefs fan as I am.
I signed up on AP the day of the draft for some fan interaction. I’ve gone to a total of 5 Chiefs games. If I somehow win the lottery, I will be the first in line to purchase season tickets.

I am currently living in Brazil until july and missed all of last season so I am looking forward to seeing the Chiefs make a turnaround this year when I get back. I grew up in New York (Long Island – but shhh don’t tell anyone cuz LI is so not not no cool) and left when I was a teenager. Went to a very non-traditional experiential education school in Zona where I got a degree in professional camping, and then worked as a professional camper (ie leading backpacking trips and teaching outdoor ed to teenagers) for the last ten years.
I became a die-hard KC fan when I was like 15 or so and my buddies were all big football fans and decided I needed to become one too. So they asked what kinds of characteristics, skill, overall mentality did I like in a team? I told them I wanted big D, big running and all heart. And that out and out described KC. Deberg, Okoye, and Word, DT, Saleamua, Page, Smith. And so a love for the Chiefs was born.
Sadly I still haven’t been to a single game but I still do have my DT jersey from 93 and my old black and red football hat.
The closest I came to a game was driving through the KC area on one of my 18 (yeah it’s true) cross country road trips and listening to the final game of the season in 2001. I remember being in Arkansas and being able to pick up the game gave me hours of pleasurable driving; even if we lost it was still way better than listening to religious radio! :)

I realize that Arkansas and KC are not near each other
so I’m probably confusing my trips… they blur together at this point, but the point is that listening to the games and then getting to listen while driving thru KC was a helluva better way to enjoy the miles.

Arkansas is close enough to KC
Chiefs and Royals games are broadcast down there too.
Royals baseball. Where .260 would be orgasmic.

KC fan in Virginia Beach
Been a fan since 89. Grew up in KC, but now I’m in Redskin country and miss the Chiefs coverage.
Had to join this site. It’s awesome. I’ve been lurking on the KCStar forums and Sports section waiting days or weeks for interesting Chiefs coverage and then I come here and it’s like drinking out of a firehose. Great site- great posts- I’ll be here from now on.

KC fan from Wichita
Hi all, been lurking here reading posts for a couple of months and love the hell out of it. Just joined up today, so I’ll be adding my two cents worth. When I was a little kid my two oldest brothers lived in KC, and I became a major fan then and continued up until they went to crap in the 70’s. Moved back to Kansas in ‘95 and have been following the Chiefs since, although there hasn’t been a lot to cheer about in that time. I do see real signs of change, hopefully vast improvement. I absolutely love having a place like this where you can find something out about the team, and what other fans are thinking. Kudos to all.

Been a member for about two years. I dont comment very often, mainly just read. Love the site and cant believe I survived without it. This is definitely the best site out there for Chiefs news. Keep up the good work everybody.
