The mood changes later, however, as the phone starts to ring, delivering news from Holtzclaw’s agent NFL teams are interested in having him participate in their upcoming rookie camps. The next day he accepts an invitation to attend the Detroit Lions’ rookie camp, however, the Kansas City Chiefs, a team that had Holtzclaw rated highly as a free-agent prospect, also currently are in the mix, along with Atlanta and Seattle. Holtzclaw could entertain offers from those clubs as well.

No, you're just invited to mini-camp
He hasn’t signed anything yet from what I understand. We are updating the previous post to indicate that.

I'm glad he'll get to pick which team he wants to go with
I wish the Chiefs would have selected him rather than the TE they traded up to get.
My crystal ball says that the Chiefs will not be drafting Aaron Curry. Their record at the end of 2009 will be 10-6.

thanks for the link
another tidbit that I didn’t know – started every game for four years. So cool to see KC listed in the mix. For his sake, I hope detroit takes him but I hope KC is paying attention if they do not. I know that there’s plento fo folks here that will!

Maybe the petition worked?
I share the same excitement for this guy like most of us do here on AP so let’s get this guy Mr. Pioli!!
Good talent, good size, strong work ethic and most of all AN AP FAVORITE!

no doubt...
If we were to sign him, the response he would get on AP would blow anything else outta the water from Draft day.(ish)… haha. sign him PIoli. Don’t let Gunther get this one.

If the Chiefs get him as a FA, then I blame Chris and Prime if you guys don't make an offer for him to do a weekly column on AP
…just don’t send Parade in the negotiating ;)
I don’t think Dan could handle all of them…and I’ll start speaking in 3rd person.
Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."
"My job is not to collect talent, but to build a team. Individuals make the Pro Bowl. Teams win championships. That is our goal."—Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.

Cmon Chiefs, get him signed!
Cool that he has not yet signed with Detroit. May be up to he and his agent as to which they believe will be best shot for him. I’d think KC behind Zach Thomas who has a 1 yr contract is PERFECT situation where he could come in and make the team, play special teams and be a 2nd sting backup in case of injury. Perfect scenario for the Claw!

He has a choice right?
If he’s not signed by Detroit doesn’t he get to pick where he wants to go?
