You can watch the NFL Draft online at NFL.com. Make sure you check out Mocking the Draft as well.

We also have our first words from Tyson Jackson, the newest Kansas City Chief. From the mothership:

On his emotions right now...

“Right now I am just so proud that the Kansas City Chiefs selected with the third pick. I have a roller coaster going through my body right now. I am going to come down there and give them everything I possibly have on the football field and in the community and try and make the Kansas City Chiefs a better place.”

On how much contact he had with the Chiefs prior to the draft...

“I spoke with them a few times at the combine. I came to visit the Chiefs in Missouri. Not too much from there. I just look forward to getting to know all the coaches on the coaching staff and the players.”

Finish reading it at the mothership.

On another note, Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star and Peter King of the Sports Illustrated are disputing the reports that Matt Cassel has signed a contract extension. **Update: Matt Cassel and Scott Pioli have both disputed the deal.

According to Rick Gosselin's top 100

we got the sixth best player at 3 in jackson (and the top DE), Oakland got the 21st best player at 7, Denver got the 16th best player at 12, and the sweet sweet icing on the cake, SD got the 45th best player at 16. Denver with their two picks seem to have gotten better, but it looks like SD and Oakland blew this one.

For those who don’t know Gosselin is widely considered the best media guy at ranking players, due to his deep connections inside most organizations. His ranking of Jackson as the best DE and the sixth best player on his board, makes me feel a lot better about the pick.

Who does Cleveland take at 21, though?

Clay Matthews? Everette Brown?

You have to think that one of those will go eventually. Both are dropping a lot.

I wish we had ammo to do anything.

This is like running out of shotgun shells in counterstrike. F!

Man

Why didn’t we steal newzome from Baltimore

by Nelly on Apr 25, 2009 5:37 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I doubt we make the trade.

But if we do, I bet we take Maualuga.

That would be fantastic. And awesome. And incredible.

I'd be surprised

they’re having a press conference about our earlier pick.

I'm currently reading "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" and it feels like we got ourselves a McMurphy on our hands....wheelin' and dealin'

We could still

Trade Dorsey to the Colts they need a DT

by NakedDave on Apr 25, 2009 5:40 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

No to Lauranitis.

Just my opinion, but he has poor gap discipline and isn’t a good tackler. I kept saying it all season.

Mildly disappointing with all the expectations.

i would be really surprised

if we traded dorsey after one year. just saying. i’d give him a little while longer before throwing in the towel, even if it doesn’t seem like he’d fit our system

We are just talking about Dorsey

Because he is the only thing we have to trade. Unless we can move the 2010 pick in something with Hali we are done.

Peria Jerry is a lot cheaper than Dorsey.

And they don’t have to give up a 3rd round pick.

It makes a lot of sense for Atlanta.

I think

our second rounder next year is looking lower and lower
