The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Friday that C Rudy Niswanger has signed his restricted free agent tender.

Kansas City Chiefs - Chiefs Sign FA TE Tony Curtis; C Rudy Niswanger Signs RFA Tender

No bites from any other team on Niswanger. He'll more than likely be here when the season starts.

I'm glad

these are both good signings for the Chiefs.
Curtis is another TE candidate, at least for the blocking spot.

Rudy is SOLID depth at the interior line positions, or he could still start at C, if the Chiefs don’t draft a new one.

i think that he could play guard

especially if the chief and bills make a trade i put in the fanshots here

agreed

I’d like to see Waters stick around.

But Parrish could be a great fit… I’d just hope they can get him and a draft pick if they have to part with Waters

RUN IT UP NISWANGERS BUTT!!!!

I’ve been waiting for this signing to say that ;)

Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."

"My job is not to collect talent, but to build a team. Individuals make the Pro Bowl. Teams win championships. That is our goal."—Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.

It would have cost another team a 2nd rounder to sign him.

I doubt any team even gave him a 2nd look.

I think a lot of Niswanger’s job depends on what we do with the #3 pick. If we pick an OT, say Monroe, I think the line will look like:

Monroe-Waters-Goff-McIntosh-Albert

That has the makings of a very good line. The interior would be pretty old, but we could continue to develop and draft guys to replace them.

If we don’t go OT at #3, then I think Niswanger has a good shot at starting at C or RG, even if we bring in an interior lineman in round 3 or 4.

Niswanger would be the C-G backup, and a solid guy to have there, at $1.5 mil, that’s not too much to pay a backup that can fill 3 positions.

With that line

I’d say goodbye to Waters and put Niswanger or another one of the young guys in there.

I'd put Niswanger in place of McIntosh

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

Is there any reason to try Niswanger at RT?

6’5 and 300, Mac is 6’4 and 328.
If Niswanger is not Center due to drafting of another.
I think we looked set with Tackles under Herm/Peterson last year
Possibly cause of Money used to sign Mac and Peterson ego.

He doesn't have the feet to play Tackle.

The size looks good, but he’d get beat off the edge everytime.

Just like McIntosh

oh snap! =)

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.
