How does this affect Atlanta and KC this weekend?
Well, the Chiefs could try and grab TE Jared Cook in round three, maybe. It's doubtful Cook will fall that far. Another possible second day TE option is Rice's James Casey. KC has no second round pick because of the Matt Cassel trade with New England.

We have Cottam…why not just work on developing him? He was under-utilized last season (for obvious reasons, we had Gonzo) but he flashed potential.
I'd be ok
I would be ok with a later 2nd day TE pick… OR a 2nd/3rd round pick IF the Chiefs can acquire additional picks through trade.
If they can’t trade for more picks, I think they need to stay put at the TE position, and focuson pass rush and OL.
Cottam will be just fine.
Why are we even worried about a TE after looking at the stats from Pioli and Haley show us they don’t even utilize the TE that much?
Cottam could out block Tony G anyday.

Looks like we picked up
Tony Curtis
Curtis – 6-5, 251 pounds, 26 years old – has seen action in 36 games during his three-year NFL career with Dallas (2006-08).
This is according to Bob Gretz,
Wow
James Casey is a real stud and seems like Pioli’s type of player. Very smart, versatile, and uber athletic. Read this article on him the other day: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/the_bonus/04/23/james.casey/index.html
Would love to see him as a second day draft choice

DON'T DRAFT A TIGHT END
Waste of a pick if you ask me. We need defensive help not another tight end.
I'm a fan
of Jared Cook, but I agree that tight end is not a priority. And then there’s my man crush on Coffman…
