Curry still posturing, getting old
Is anyone else getting tired of hearing Curry talk about how great it would be to fit into Detroit's team? Recently, I read that he's love to play with an ex-high school team mate.
Whatever happened to, "he'll do the best he can with whatever team drafts him". I don't see Stafford or Sanchez taking like this.
"After my visit to Detroit, I felt very comfortable with the coaching staff and the management," Curry said. "And, you know, they made the new changes to the logo, which I fell in love with. And they brought in Julian Peterson, who I’ve always been a big fan of. I see myself in that uniform, and I could also see myself playing beside Ernie Sims and Julian Peterson."
As Curry was describing how he exchanges text messages with Lions GM Martin Mayhew, all I kept thinking about was how the Bears built their team around Brian Urlacher.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

What's he supposed to say?
Should he say “I am praying that I don’t end up with the horrible Lions in that horrible town”? Uh, no, he’s trying to say something nice about the team he might end up playing for, but also might not.
And who cares what he says anyway? If it’s getting old, then why even bother tracking down his quotes?

why?
Because I think I like him as a player. I just don’t like looking at quotes saying that he’d like to play for another team. Just like I didn’t like seeing TG saying that he wanted to be traded.
If you’re about to be drafted, shut your mouth, and talk after a team selects you. Why the heck is he talking about his love for the new logo?

but...
I suppose it didn’t bother you at all when he said it would be a blessing from God if he got to play with Tank Tyler? You can’t have it both ways. If I was possibly the number 1 overall pick, I’d say things like that too. Plus you don’t even list the question he was answering which was probably could you see yourself playing for the Lions? C’mon. This is really a waste of your time to be upset about

Ok, then call his agent and tell him to advise Curry to just speak the plain truth to the press:
“I would love to go #1 to Detroit because the monetary compensation would be incredible, and my agent would get a very nice cut.
If I don’t go #1 I’d like to go #2 where my agent assures me that his cut would still be top notch, and the uniforms are a pretty color.
If I can’t go #2 then I’d love to be a Chief. I know a guy at that team, and my agent says we’re still talking about $30M bucks.
If I can’t go #3 then going to Seattle would be great. I hear they have so seriously good coffee in that town.
Wow, the NFL tradition in Cleveland is really enticing. If I don’t get picked by Seattle my agent says his next biggest cut of my paycheck would come from Cleveland..
Etc, etc.

Ex high school teammate
=Tank Tyler, a member of the Chiefs, not the Lions. So he’s made claims to want to play for two of the top 5 teams in the draft, the same two teams that are widely considered favorites to draft him. Sounds like he’s interviewing for a job and setting up a plan B. Why would he want to shoot himself in the foot and talk sh*t on any team that may draft him. Do you really think he wants to play in St. Louis? Doubtful, but he’s not saying that in case they would draft him.

He was supposed to say
“Detroit? Why would I want to go to Detroit? Have you been to Detroit? F that! It’s always cold, the chicks are FUGLY and it smells like a urinal. I mean seriously, you can’t even get a decent slab of ribs there. There is a reason people are evacuting that town like it’s Chernobyl.
If the Lions draft me I’m going out Elway style. I’ll play baseball. There is no ammount of money worth putting myself through the pain of living in Detroit and playing for the Lions.
Kansas City on the other hand is where it’s at. The BBQ is fierce!! And my boy Tank tells me they got some crazy little women there. I’m gunna get me some."

Hey
At least the guy is outwardly excited about playing for a shitty team. You gotta give him that. I think it’s pretty cool.

I can't give him too much credit.
I would do about anything and play for almost any team for the amount of money we are talking about here.

True
But then again you look at guys like John Elway and Eli Manning who pretty much refused to play for the crappy teams that drafted them. Curry even said he’d take less money that last years number one pick if it came down to that. I think he’s just a kid who’s excited about getting in there and playing ball.
But of course I see your point. I never understood how some of these guys could have a problem playing for anyone who paid them millions of dollars. I’d dance a jig in my skivvies if someone gave me that kind of money to play a game that I loved.

The only Screw up Curry made...
Was proposing marrage BEFORE he was drafted and signed his big contract.
Should have waited until after so that he could argue that he came into the marrage with that money just in cast the crap hit the fan. Other than that, It just looks me like the guy can’t wait to get the draft over so he can put ona uniform and get back to playing football.

OHHHHHH!
I didn’t know that!!!! Are you friggin’ kidding me? And here I was thinking he was unusually smart. Lol! Maybe he can still use that argument if he gets his NFL contract signed before he signs his marriage license! But then again, depends on what state he’s in and how they handle precedence. Hahaha! That’s funny stuff.
Let’s play some ball dammit!

Doesn't matter.
They are engaged. As far as I know the date of marriage is what matters in terms of who gets what.
Or he could just make her sign a prenuptial. I think its ridiculous when women get away with half and they obviously weren’t getting the signing bonus.

This is rough
I think the kid is a class act. You cats seem pretty harsh on him. I know he’s gonna make a bundle, but wow, I don’t know how it hurts to say that he’d love to play here or there. I can’t wait to see him with that cancer survivor kid on draft day!
