Around SBN: Are The Orioles Bad Or Unlucky With Their Young Pitching?

And with the #60 Pick in the NFL Draft, the New York Giants Select...

Herman-johnson_gregmcwilliamssmi__medium

                 LSU OT Herman Johnson

Chiefsfan90s with the pick...

The New York Giants could use a franchise offensive tackle. So with their third pick in the first two rounds; the New York Giants choose LSU offensive lineman Herman Johnson. With a beast of an offensive lineman like Herman Johnson, who is 6 foot 7 inches, and weighs in at 386 pounds; the Giants could do two things once they select Herman Johnson. They could move David Deihl back to left guard, and move Herm from left guard to left tackle like the Kansas City Chiefs did with OL Branden Albert, last year. The other option is that they keep David Deihl, who has been solid, at left tackle, and keep the mammoth sized left guard at his original position; where he was considered one of the best in college, at LSU.

His strength, size, and aggressiveness is enough to get any defender shivering in their shoes, before the play. Once the play comes; he is off, and will be ready to flatten full defenses down, whenever they are dumb enough to try to go after Eli Manning, Brandon Jacobs (He along is a force; imagine having this freak of mother nature in front of him.), and Ahmad Bradshaw.

For Herman Johnson to still be the board would excite any quarterback.

Round 1 is here.

Previous pick: OL Fenuki Topou

Any LSU watchers out there?

I’ve been curious about this guy since reading about him as a prospect before last season. Is he a mauler? Does he have a vicious side? Or is he a gentle giant who has gotten by in college because he’s 6’7" 380?

I can’t help but think of Aaron Gibson when I look at his scouting report, but if he’s got some nastiness and he’s injury free, getting a mountain of a man like that would be literally and figuratively huge.

About time we got back to current business Chris

…and stopped talking about former players :)

j/k fans…I know today was a big news day for us and some are taking this really hard.

OK, as far as the pick. I like it. I wouldn’t move Diehl and leave him where he is. The Giants are in need of an OT and considering the experience on the line I anticipate he could learn a lot under Diehl’s tutelage.

Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."

"My job is not to collect talent, but to build a team. Individuals make the Pro Bowl. Teams win championships. That is our goal."—Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.

Agreed

Good pick, continue to strengthen the lines…that’s how the Giants will keep their longevity.

ChiefsFan90s....

Unfortunately the other news today big timed your post…nice work, though.

Hope the Chiefs get him...

But the Giants would be stupid to not take him. Deihl is a versatile offensive lineman, and Herman Johnson is a great LT. Hope he does go the Kansas City Chiefs, though.
