Final Trade Predictions (from me)

Well it's Wednesday afternoon and the Chiefs have been in the news in 2009, according to Google, 935,000 times. So with that representing 1/1000th of all the Chiefs fans, I thought I would go ahead and give my lame predictions of the number of trades "The Don" himself will make this weekend.

I predict 3 trades of current Chief players between now and 9pm Sunday night.

Tony Gonzalez will be traded.

Brian Waters will be traded.

Tyler Thigpen will be traded.

Larry Johnson will have one "Fart thrown in his General Direction".

Actually i am going out on a limb on the names, but with all I have read and seen on TV and the needs of other teams, and what Pioli has said and the color of my wifes underwear this morning, and wait a second...did I say that?

By the way, I checked the Fanshots before I wrote this and there were no previous entries matching this subject. Bu t I had one eye closed.  :)

Not Thiggy

too valuable as a different look QB, brings a whole new element to the game, if the starter goes down, Bones comes in and now the opposition has a player with totally different skillsets they didn’t game plan for at all. Quality backup that is super cheap, like him better than Croyle.

Agree not Thiggy -- different reason

Too soon for the Thigpen trade.

The Don and Haley love Cassel but the not renegotiating the franchise tag deal seems to indicate they are not fully sold on his long term status as a franchise quarterback.

I think ‘Thiggy’ is plan B if Cassel does not pan out.

Best case scenario is that Cassel proves he is the real deal at which point he will get his long term deal. Thigpen will then get dealt like Walsh was from Dallas, Schaub from Atlanta, Rosenfels from Houston….

I agree with Lanier63 on the other trades

No not TG or Waters...

Too valuable for us getting back into playoff contention

I agree with the 3.

TG-I hate that one, but it will be for the best
Waters-Get a good young guard in the draft
Dorsey or Hali-just a hunch

I agree with all your choices

A lot of folks aren’t including Thigpen but his value after a decent 2008 is higher than ever and noone is untouchable. If Cassel is “the man”, the Chiefs don’t need a second year backup, they need an aging veteran backup and a 3rd string “project” (neither of which are on the roster now!).
I love Tony G. but unless the Chiefs make a huge 1 year turnaround (possible, but definitely against the odds), Tony will retire before the Chiefs are truly dominant again. Why not get a 2nd rounder now that in 2 years may be a solid starter?

I agree with you

except the Chiefs had a shot at aging vet QB’s and didn’t pull trigger.
I think Tony and Brian are gone. And possibly Hali. I voted 2 players.
Dorsey and Thigpen will stay.
My son just took off with my truck I plan on it coming back too :)

Interesting.

Also, what color of underwear did your wife have on? My wife had on a purple thong. Cute little tan butt, too.

"Fart thrown in his General Direction"

Heeeeeey, do you have permission to use that? ;)

I say 3….Thigpen possibly because his trade value has never been bigger. LJ and TG gone and Waters has been really quiet except for the one incident, so I think he stays.

TG has expressed his desire to be traded too many times and I think it’ll be a packaged deal. LJ, we won the arbitration and I don’t see Pioli paying him $3.5 Mil. after having gone through that.

Waters-I believe will be traded
Tony- I think will be gone too
thiggy- possibly not sure what he would go for but teams could get desperate if they dont get a QB teams that could be intrested SF, jets, and tampa

If they consider Bones to be starting material, what do we take for him?

Possibly a 2nd & 3rd, conditional next year.

Everyone keeps saying his value is at it’s highest, just what exactly is the value of a guy with 10 games started, gritty all out effort, 1 win and whole lot of exciting scrambles?

by Your_Moms_Boyfriend on Apr 22, 2009 5:03 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Oh just sign Pat Barnes

Then we can surely trade Bones and feel good about it. I would also like Greg Hill back….then we can trade LJ.
