Trade odds: Very good. Atlanta is mulling whether to make a trade offer. Gonzalez would provide veteran leadership and give second-year quarterback Matt Ryan a Hall of Fame-caliber receiving target. Gonzalez, though, may not be an ideal fit considering Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey usually doesn't showcase the tight end in his passing attack.

My six year old speaks, again.
I am not gonna put up with this guessing about if Gonzalez is gonna leave. because
I am not a very good guesser at if other people transfer teams.
Now hopefully this team is fun to watch again! Thanks Scott, Clark!!

I do not want TG to go,
but Atlanta had better get it together if they are going to do this. This is making me nuts, waiting on the draft, waiting to move, I am on the edge here!
Now hopefully this team is fun to watch again! Thanks Scott, Clark!!

Personally I think that guys arguments were really weak.
He also said the Chiefs will likely release LJ and that’s not gonna happen. I don’t think this guy knows what he’s talking about. I also don’t think it’s “very likely” Boldin will be traded.

i thought he said there was a porr chance that LJ would be traded

He did, and then he said the Chiefs would likely release LJ

That officially makes him

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

The Chiefs, the whole Chiefs and nothing but the Chiefs...so help me God
I’ve gotten to the point that I could care less about the three amigo’s (LJ,TG,Waters) and have come to the conclusion that the Chiefs are greater then any individual or small group of individuals.
This city was anything but great to them, the fans extremely supportive even in bad times (and one player given more then one chance), as well as making very good money playing a sport that countless people would only dream of….and in lieu of all that, they showed their colors and still opened their mouths.
So be it. The needs of the team outweigh the needs of the one. If he goes, he goes.

Agreed
I’m kind of in the same boat…like just get it over with. Same thing with the Trent Green trade in the ’07 offseason and the Jared Allen trade in ’08. These things are so drawn out.

Your Dreaming the truth..Your Dreaming
A lil premature..

I could care less about the rantings of two individuals that show no "team" spirit
LJ is about LJ making $ and thuggery; TG is about going to a SB contender.
They don’t care about you…they care about themselves as has been noted numerous times in their interviews. I remember SF fans ranting about Montana getting replaced by a kid off the bench named Steve Young….that worked out pretty well.
There’s a line of guys that’ll play and can produce. It’s Pioli’s job to find the best and succeed. TG and LJ aren’t the end-all be-all of this team. People need to quit worshipping these diva’s as tho this team will never survive without them. Players change, they move on, it’s mgmt’s responsibility to find quality replacements and win.

What LJ,TG, & Waters need is just a little "Team Spirit!"

I completely agree with you TRUTH……Maybe this might help :)

Well like you guy's have said ...........
A thousand time’s this is a business so why should they care what you think? Maybe he should play for free this yr, so that you guy’s won’t be upset that he want’s to win a Super-Bowl!
He has givin 10yr’s of his life to you guy’s, and to K.C, now he want’s to win a Super-Bowl, or at least play in one! Where is the problem in that? You say it’s shitty that he want’s that………. i say it’s shitty that you guy’s have a problem with it! After all it’s a business right! It’s not like there’s has been alot of bad press about this, and it hasn’t hurt the team, they all understand! Only you guy’s have made it a big deal! That’s just my opinion!

I say it's shitty that he signed a contract with the Chiefs and now thinks he can go play for another team
He signed a 4 year contract with THE CHIEFS. We didn’t owe him anything after that…especially a promise about “not rebuilding”.
So in the midlle of his multi-million dollar contract he wants out? He should of thought about that 2 years ago before signing, shouldn’t he?
But I suppose it doesn’t matter, we should just give in to TG, and let his needs be greater than the Chiefs {sarc.}

Good points ABE!......... thats an honest statement....
Four score and seven years ago my father Lamar brought forth to this state, a new franchise, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all teams are created equal, and all share the right to one day hold the Lombardi trophy up in triumph.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that team, the Arrowhead nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great playing-field of that gridiron. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who have given their careers so that that dream might live (DT, John Alt). It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the active players on the roster, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us — that from these honored players we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave their lasting full measure of devotion — that we here highly resolve that these great players shall not have given thier careers in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth from the vortex of suck that we have grown weary from — and that this Chiefs franchise of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
Here’s to you TRUTH….you stir the fire from within….this franchise will finally be a successful team once the Me-First Individuals are no longer a part of it.

TG's not going anywhere.
Does Hotlanta really think they are a TE away from competing for a Super Bowl? If not, they aren’t giving up a 2nd rounder. If so I want some of their nuggets.

Keep what we got
The trouble with draft is that no team has a hardon for anybody. Lets just keep our 3rd, we earned it. Find a RT though FA, and then find the diamonds in the rough in later rounds.
by Digital on Apr 20, 2009 9:00 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Oh yes they do
But I like your sentiment and Pioli would be the one to find those diamonds.
They might be 34 yrs old or they might be on our roster right now:)

Ramblings
First off, this is no reason to keep TG out of Atlanta.
Gonzalez, though, may not be an ideal fit considering Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey usually doesn’t showcase the tight end in his passing attack.
I don’t care what kind of OC you are, if you acquire a talent such as Tony G, you find a way to showcase him. If you can’t, then you’re not a very good coordinator.
I would hate…HATE to see Tony wearing anything but the Red & Gold, but I like a 2nd round pick in exchange for 2 years of elite play at the TE spot. Look at it this way, as the Chiefs you wouldn’t take the reverse – our 2nd round pick (if we had one) for 2 years of elite TE play (if we didn’t have Tony). For Atlanta he’s a missing piece. KC has missing pieces. I think Cottam will be an above average TE, and I’ll take that plus a 2nd round pick over Tony in our situation – especially since Tony has expressed interest in leaving.
In the end – We’ve had the best TE in the game for the last 12 seasons and how many Championships have we won? How many playoff games have we won?

I think Cottam will be an above average TE
I’ve seen nothing to make me think Cottam will be above average or below average – frankly, we haven’t seen enough of him to make any evaluations.
