Another pointless mock filled with hopes

I thought I'd see what you guys think.  I was sitting in class bored on the net and these are the guys I came up with our current picks.

Rd1  LB A. Curry or a LT E. Monroe.  If Curry is gone (doubtful) then we'd have to go to Monroe.  I like Monroe over Smith.  And it would add to our latest tradtion.  Tamba Hali (Penn ST)  Larry Johnson (Penn ST) Dwayne Bowe(LSU) Glenn Dorsey(LSU) Branden Albert(Virginia).

Rd3 DE P. Kruger.  We are showing interest and I think people like him here.  Has a good motor but is old.  He's a fighter check out his bio on www.nfl.com  He'd be a great sucess story

Rd 4 C A. Caldwell  be a good fit since we play in a division with 3 3-4s.  He's big and was apart of one of the greatest college O'Lines in recent years

RD 5  RT A. Boone.  Big but has some issues of not playing through the play.  He did a great job against a possible Top 5 pick in Brian Orakpo

RD6  DT M. Pryer    Possible NT for us in the future

RD7  OG  M. Davis   Part of that Bama O'Line underated IMO

RD7 ILB B Chrispoter  Local guy.  Think he would be a 3-4 guy.  Need another LB to replace Vrabes or Thomas someday soon.

What do you guys think?  Every1 is reachable I believe.  Looked at walterfootball for his player projections.

I'm worried about Antoine Caldwell...

He’s a zone-blocking kind of Center as he enters the NFL. We’ll see how the zone-blocking scheme holds up against the 3-4.

I could live with it

I don’t want a OT at #3(go ahead and tear me up. I see no reason to move Albert.) I’m also thinkin an extra WR at some point. This mock also needs LJ to stay. I’ve been back-and-forth on that one.

Red and Gold

If that was in reference to my spelling(or lack there of), sorry. I’m already three cocktails in to this afternoon.

I'm gonna be that guy

who corrects someone on some minor thing and for that I’m sorry Dave. but the list of first round picks since 02 looks like this:

2002: Ryan Sims DT North Carolina
2003: Larry Johnson HB Penn State
2004: No Pick
2005: Derrick Johnson LB Texas
2006: Tamba Hali DE Penn State
2007: Dwayne Bowe WR Louisiana State
2008: Glenn Dorsey DT Louisiana State
            Brandon Albert OT Virginia

Hate to say it but I don’t see the “pattern”. We just happened to draft guys who went to the same school and were teammates. This says nothing about us getting Monroe, which if we did would be, in my opinion, a foolish pick. But thinking there was a pattern was creative so i’ll give you an honorable Tip of the Cap. Overall though good post. :)

I was just goin off of thought

Thanks for the correction… Didn’t think of the no pick and thought DJ was the year b4 LJ but thanks anyways.

Oh yeah

I don’t mean that we base our pick off of what school they went too But just thought that would have been an odd thing to happen.

Looking at that list of 1st rd picks

I see no total busts.
Sims I think is still playing, TB maybe, and all the rest are to this point on the
Chiefs and mostly productive. Sims might have been better with some DL coaching.
OH he stills the coach :(

Sims was drafted top 10 correct?

Yeah he is a bust. Sims would have been better with some drive and the ability to not get fat.
