I like that he was more focused on the defense. I hope this means he won’t put all his attention on his specialty (offense)
Also, he seems to have gotten the flop sweat under control.

Tyler Thigpen will be a Kansas City Chief in 2009.

I'm so confused about our defense.

Are we running a 3-4 or not?

My guess is we'll do a mix

of the 4-3 under and the 3-4. Switch it up to confuse the offense.

He said they were lining up in an "Under" all day...

And then later he when asked about positions he said they were in “base defense” all practice.
2+2=4, and We’re running the Pendergast 43 Under as our base defense in 2009.

And hopefully beyond...

I think it is definitely the best use of Tank and Dorsey…

He looked lighter...

Like…funner…

That was interesting that he spent the whole afternoon with the defense and wouldnt say anything about personnel there….

Under front in a base defense is all he said…that is gay haha

If he can win games stoned,

I vote we start Chiefs Special Brownie Sunday.

Or we can just make every 2009 home game “Chiefs Special Brownie Sunday”

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

I think he just despises the media/interview aspect of being the HC. I'm fine with that.

I've been rapping for about seveteen years okay? I don't write my stuff anymore I just kick it from my head you know what I'm sayin? I can do that. No disrespect but that's how I am.

I've noticed...

…considering how he usually acts, both times he’s been interviewed after mini-camps he seems to be in lighter more cheerful spirits. It comes off to me that he is very satisfied at the attendance of these voluntary camps, and, for the most part – a few black sheep players nonewithstanding – seems to like what he is seeing.

what defense are we running?

Haley is talking like that I would guess to keep from saying the wrong thing.

they want to wait as long as possible to tell any one anything about the offense or defense. would not be surprised if we did not know til they lined up for the first play of the preseason

He said they will see the alignments tomorrow...

So I assume the media will have some access and we may see some photos tomorrow hopefully…

a game

i still think we or going to run a 3-4 4-3 i mean it’s kind of good we dont let it been out there what we gone run this year cuz if we do that it give teams more time to work on a way to stop it i say keep this going on all the way to week one we have a chance of beating the Ravens but they got time to work on a O that is best for a 3-4 D so keep it loc key even tho it’s going to come out soon

I'm much more comfortable running the 4-3 under with Pendergast

If we had Crennel, then yeah, lets do the 3-4. But we shouldn’t force it if it’s not there yet.

by Vince D on Apr 17, 2009 9:46 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I think the personnel is more relevant than the Pendergast factor, and I think it would be the exact same it Crennel was here

The coaches on defense right now have been around long enough that they can adapt any defense to the players they have. I think that’s the reason Haley brought these guys in. Like New England, the D will be very situational.

by RedNose on Apr 18, 2009 1:27 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Excellent point

If Crennel had come here, we’d still be running a defense similar to the 4-3 under, because that best fits the personnel we currently have, and good coaches actually recognize that

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.
