Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Sets Assist High In Easy Win Over Sacramento

Detroit claimed ex-Kansas City wide receiver Will Franklin off waivers Tuesday, a source told FOXSports.com. The Lions were given the nod over four other teams who placed waiver claims — St. Louis, Philadelphia, Indianapolis and Oakland — because of a worse record last season. The Lions finished as the only 0-16 squad in NFL history.

No surprise

at 4 teams putting in waiver claims. I still think this was a stupid idea

Hopefully

he isn’t the next Joe Horn/Kawika Mitchell/Fujita/any other Chiefs cast-off who makes it big with another team and embarrasses us.

Evidence this probably wasn't the best decision?

Smart organizations, Indy and Philly, put in bids. Particularly the Colts angle: they know offense.

I wonder what Franklin did that Pioli wouldn't first see if he could of picked up....

a draft pick instead of just flat out cutting him? and getting nothing for him.

Opinions are like A--holes, everyones got one.

I wouldn't get ahead of yourself there.

But it wouldn’t surprise to see Franklin catch on somewhere. Maybe that was a favor to him, “hey, we don’t like what we’ve seen, but we’re going to waive you and you’re definitely going to have interest from other teams. We’re not going to keep you in limbo.”

My crystal ball says Jay Cutler cries himself to sleep every night.
