Peppers Rumors= NaNz speculation =)

I started typing this as a comment on the front page but realized it would be too long for a comment.

The ideal situation for the Chiefs amidst all these rumors would be to go trade crazy during the draft. What I have in mind is damn near impossible but it's fun to dream right? Heres my ideal draft.

Day One

  • The Chiefs trade their #3 to Denver for both the #12 and #18 pick. With the #3 pick Denver snatches up Mark Sanchez before Seattle, Jacksonville, and San Francisco even get a fighting chance.
  • The Chiefs trade the #12 along with a conditional 2010 3rd to Carolina for Julius Peppers.
  • With the #18 pick Kansas City drafts Tyson Jackson out of LSU. Jackson is the prime cut of 3-4 DE's in this draft and with his addition the Chiefs are looking solid on defense.

Day Two

  • With their third round choice Kansas City drafts Eric Wood. A solid center to play next to Mike Goff and dismantle the 3-4's of the AFC West.
  • With their fourth round choice Kansas City drafts Mike Wallace. A solid KR/PR whom Todd Haley could turn into a Steve Breatson sort of player. If your a Chiefs fan that watched our games last season, you'd know a solid return man would make you pee your pants.
  • With their fifth round choice Kansas City drafts Alex Boone. For some reason his stock is dropping, could be because first round talent tackles are rising. Anyways, Boone gave Orakpo hell at the senior bowl and could step into a camp battle with Barry Richardson, Damion Macintosh, and Herb Taylor for the RT spot. With the addition of Boone Kansas City finds themselves in a good position with a solid O-Line, an intriguing skill set, and a power house defense.
  • With their sixth round choice Kansas City drafts Javarris Williams. A bruiser to spell Jamaal Charles when Larry Johnson is traded for a bag of chips and some rounds for Scott Pioli's hand gun.
  • With their two sevenths the Chiefs draft Roger Allen and Robbie Dehaze. A guard to replace Goff or Waters in a few years and a kicker to replace the inconsistent Connor Barth.

Our offense would look like this (camp battle=*)

  • LT- Branden Alberts
  • LG- Brian Waters
  • C- Eric Wood
  • RG- Mike Goff
  • RT- Richardson/ Alex Boone*
  • QB- Matt Cassel
  • FB- Mike Cox

  • RWR- Dwayne Bowe
  • LWR- Mark Bradley
  • Slot(s)- Bobby Engram/ Mike Wallace
  • TE(s)- Tony Gonzalez/ Brad Cottam

Our Defense would look like this (camp battle=*)

  • LDE- Glenn Dorsey
  • NT- Tank Tyler
  • RDE- Tyson Jackson
  • LOLB- Mike Vrabel
  • LILB- Derrick Johnson
  • RILB- Zach Thomas
  • ROLB- Julius Peppers
  • LCB- Brandon Flowers
  • RCB- Brandon Carr
  • Nickel- Maurice Leggett
  • SS- Bernard Pollard
  • FS- Jarrad Page/ DeJuan Morgan*
