Personally I don't like the idea...they were in Dallas for a couple of years and since then they have been supported by the Jackson County taxpayers. If you don't like it go here and fill out this petition...set up by KK and 810 of course.

Its a helmet

I don’t see the big deal. I think Kietzman just loves to play the “KC inferiority complex” card where New York and Texas and the coastal cities are the bad guys.

OTOH I also don’t get why they’re doing this for three games? Maybe one, when they play in Dallas, that makes a lot of sense, but why at home?

What bothers me more is that the freaking Raiders and Donks get primetime games for the anniversary of the AFL.

Lamar Hunt founded it, shouldn’t the Chiefs be featured since it is the anniversary?

The more I think about it, I am getting mad about the helmets.

1) The suck-ass Raiders get prime nods for the AFL anniversary (yes, I am aware of the Al Davis angle).

2) We don’t, and our late owner founded the damn league.

3) We have to play the Dallas Cowboys wearing their freaking state and STAR on it in Arrowhead. That’s just blasphemy. It wouldn’t be that bad if we weren’t playing the Cowboys for that game. It is like a game honoring them in our stadium. Why don’t we just wear their colors?

It's a symbol.

I understand your point, but the helmet and logo is a symbol of the history of the Chiefs franchise as well as the AFL. I have no problem with it.

I think it’s complete bullshit. They aren’t the Dallas Chiefs, or the Dallas Texans. It’s a slap in the face to the fans and city who have supported them since the beginning. Why not wear the old Chiefs AFL throwbacks instead of this Texas bullshit?

The KC inferiority complex gets really old.

The Royals haven’t played in the postseason since 1985. The Chiefs haven’t been to the Superbowl in 40 years and haven’t won a playoff game in over a decade. Our teams give the sports media no reason to pay attention to a small market city.

Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family.

I know I'll get crucified for this, but.....

I would love to see the Chiefs modernize their uniforms. I don’t want them to go as far as the Pats and Donkeys have gone in re-imagining the logo, but I think the uniforms could be updated and the arrowhead logo modernized in a way that retains it yet improves it.

We will have to at some point, but I do love our home uniforms. The red is absolutely beautiful.

I can't...

Condone the modernization of our uniforms. I’d much rather be the Steelers than the Cardinals. I can’t imagine watching Dwayne Bowe dawning anything but that classic red jersey with gold and white bands on the arm. Additionally, Derrick Thomas wouldn’t ever wear anything but the classics IMO.

What’s better Contemporary or Classic? I’ll choose, and always wear, the latter.

I don't thing the Chiefs uniforms now are bad but

I would like to see them updated. I don’t think a major overhaul is needed, but maybe tweak the logo and give us some alternate color jerseys to wear (like black with red numbers or gold with red numbers, etc.)

I was born in the United States, but I relish my Irish heritage.

Why is there any problem with doing the same for the Chiefs and celebrating where our team came from? We were at one point the Dallas Texans. Just because they chose to remember their past doesn’t mean they’re moving back to Dallas.

The Chiefs uniform and helmets have

been basically (only minor changes) the same since the team began playing in K.C. I don’t have a problem with the old Texans helmet being used. We have had many players over the years who were form Texas as well as Lamar Hunt. Frankly I am grateful that Lamar Hunt chose K.C. to move the old Texans to. I think we should be proud of our roots whether they were in Texas or wherever. Everybody knows we are the Chiefs. Everybody knows we are K.C. What is the harm in wearing the throwback helmet and uniforms?

Yet again I say...

for the love of God if we win the game I don’t care if we come out wearing Bronco’s uniforms. WTF everyone. They are throwback uniforms. They are OUR uniforms. We aren’t going out there in Dalls Cowboys Uniforms we are going out there in TEXANS uniforms. I personally love to see the NEW Chiefs taking a page from their winning tradition and showing the Cowboys that Dallas would have been better off if the Texans stuck around!

Our guys will still be the Kansas City Chiefs no matter what is on the side of the helmet.

I think we will get a primetime game and I think we will win it! And I’ll be fired up.

I’m with you dude, we’re not getting a primetime slot and as DThomasReigns said Our late owner founded the AFL. It should be Chiefs vs. Raiders opening week if they want to “celebrate” the AFL. I will say I would love to see the Chiefs re-vamp their uniforms. I do love the classic jersey but I think with a new regime and attitude we should get some new duds to complete the transformation.

Man we were good and our owner did start, w/others the AFL, and has the AFL trophy

name after him. But, we were 2-14 and other AFL teams AKA Pittsburgh and Oakland have been in and/or won more Titles. “Don” Pioli would say respect is due….
Until we win our 3rd Super Bowl IN A ROW. Go Chiefs.
As far as Helmut maybe we could put a map of US with the Star right where it belongs in KC.
