Help me settle a bet

Ok, I am having a disagreement with a friend of mine on the Chiefs uniforms.  I remember back sometime in the 90's that the Chiefs had a proposal to change their uniforms (I specificly remember a helmet redesign) to a more "Redskins-ish" style.  I want to say it was maroon or red with a spear similar to Florida States logo.  Obviously the change never happened but does anyone else rember this proposed change or am I just completly mental?  I have scoured the internets and have come up with nothing.  If someone else remembers this please let me know, a pic would be great too so I can settle this argument once and for all.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Some key exerts:

The arrowhead with the interlocking initials " KC " that adorns Chiefs helmets is one of the most recognizable logos in the NFL. It has had staying power through the years, and there has never been any talk of updating it to the times like the stylized “Elvis Presley Patriot” at New England or the streamlined Buffalo in the Bills’ helmet.

and

"We never thought about any of that. I just happened to like red and gold. And everybody did the logos on their own. " Several teams have undergone redesigns of the logo , including the Broncos, Bills, Jets and most recently Patriots among the original AFL teams.

I don’t remember any rumblings about changing the helmets. I do remember the “stop the chop” campaign. What a load of crap.

I remember a change that was proposed, I believe by the NFL uniforms shitheads

around the time you are thinking of or in the 80’s. Yes they had proposed to change the logo, but if memory serves me correctly, the team and specifically Lamar Hunt said “Hell no”

"But what do I know, I'm AP's new assclown and I’m like an empty room with a large ECHO"
