Good afternoon to you all on a beautiful (at least where I am) Saturday (It's Saturday, right?) afternoon. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and the NFL draft is approaching.
The table above lists all of the Kansas City Chiefs' draft interests we've been able to dig up (This is not intended to be a comprehensive list), arranged by four different categories. I've linked back to the stories on AP citing those sources for legitimacy. Take the categories as seriously as you want. Obviously, the private workouts are probably the most legitimate, although you have guys like Mike Rivera from KU who are only going to the Chiefs little local Pro Day in mid-April that is for KC-area prospects.
After today, I'm going to feature this story and there will be a permanent link in the left sidebar to this so we can access it at anytime. We'll also be updating this list as new prospects connected to the Chiefs come up.
And one more thing, please let us know in the comment section if we missed anyone. Thanks!

Does anyone know
Does anyone know how many of our picks from last year “we showed an interest in” (and would have gone on a list like this)? Regardless, this is a good resource. Thanks!

It's tough to tell
Not every player we’re interested in gets reported on.
You’re right, this list isn’t necessarily indicative of players the Chiefs will draft if they are available.

why isn't mike thomas on the KC draft interest list?
The article says the Chiefs were there to see Mike Thomas WR ’Zona and ended up looking at Britton also. Thomas is a stud and would be great to learn behind Engram for a year.

No Curry?
I really think Pioli’s trying to trade down to nab Maualuga. He’s a true 3-4 ILB and we need one of those, Curry plays outside we already have Vrabel and DJ. Why draft someone just to change their position?

I'm sure we'll visit with him at some point
We just haven’t heard it reported.

we have to
if were going to potentially use him for trade bait. if every other team in the NFL sees we haven’t loked at him they wont worry and wont feel the urge to move up.

Did you see my suggestion?
Cassel vs. Thigpen in Camp should improve the play of both.
Next on the need list: linebacker, and both lines

A useful addition to the grid...
Might be each player’s projected draft round. Or not. Just a thought.

Didnt we have a picture of a scout at Alabama's Pro Day?

How could we not at least talk to Holtzclaw?
When he reads Arrowhead Pride? This is a travesty! Has Lanier called the Don yet to ask a favor?

+1 Lanier, get to it! :)

The Chiefs apparently are not interested
Notes from his Pro Day March 17th:
Inside/middle linebacker Daniel Holtzclaw was another EMU prospect who had a terrific day.
Holtzclaw measured 6006/242-pounds, posted a 32-inch vertical jump, 9’6’’ broad jump and completed 33-reps on the bench. His forty times were slightly disappointing at 4.81-to-4.88 but Holtzclaw’s shuttle times were terrific.
His short shuttle was timed at 4.31-seconds, 60-yard shuttle at 11.48-seconds and 3-cone 6.86-seconds. This surprised many on hand as Holtzclaw is considered a downhill linebacker and lateral movement is not his forte’.
He looked terrific in position drills and had a frame which was described by one scout as iron clad. The New York Jets, Houston Texans and New York Giants sent scouts to watch Holtzclaw.

Mike Rivera
Would probably be worth bringing in as a UDFA, but I just don’t know that he’s worth a draft pick. He always had great athleticism for his position, but he disappeared in games a lot and I just don’t know that he’s an NFL caliber linebacker (even as a reserve).
Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
2. The Lions will draft Matt Stafford, the Rams will draft Jason Smith, and the Chiefs will draft either Aaron Curry or Eugene Monroe.

Mike Rivera
I think if he goes undrafted bring him in for special teams I think he would work well there and to spot in for special package defenses ..

Nice overview
You are wrong on Sammie Lee Hill though. He is a 2nd or 3rd rounder by all accounts. No later than the 4th for sure.

Thanks
I’m going by NFL Draft Scout’s projections for each player, in order to keep it even.

Jerome Johnson
From what I can see, he’s a LB, not FB…
