Pioli's secrecy and the Jay Cutler debacle
As a Chiefs fan, the news that Jay Cutler put his Denver house in the market is really, really funny. The best part of the Cassel trade (or at least the most entertaining part of it) has been the collateral damage it's done to the Broncos. Josh McDaniels and Pat Bowlen could not have screwed that situation up any worse if they had designed at 12 point plan for doing it.
I also think this gives us some valuable insight into Scott Pioli's method of working and the shroud of secrecy that has engulfed One Arrowhead Drive since the new GM came on board. The Cutler situation and Denver would not being taking place if there hadn't been a leak of information coming from the Broncos organization. If Cutler didn't know he was being dangled for a trade then none of this would be happening to them. I think the Cutler situation is a great example of why Pioli wants to be in control of what information is released by the Chiefs organization.
I think Jason Whitlock is a douchebag. I think everything he writes has one goal and that is to raise the profile of Jason Whitlock. For the most part he achieves his goals. I read Whitlock mostly because I know he will make me mad. A couple of weeks ago, Whitlock said that the Chiefs' secrecy made Pioli look like an amateur. In reality, the truth is the exact opposite: by keeping a lid on his own organization Pioli is avoiding a truly embarrassing and damaging situation like the Broncos find themselves in. Josh McDaniels looks like an amateur.

Amateur
That’s the last word I would use to describe Pioli (you know, the guy who’s won the NFL Executive of the Year Award on more than one occasion?). Ignore Whitlock.
