Chiefs David Macklin Arrested for DUI

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback David Macklin was arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of DUI.

WTKR out of Newport News, VA (Hey, Michael Vick lives there) has the scoop:

David Thurman Macklin, 30, who lists his address as in Phoenix, Ariz., was charged with DUI after being arrested on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard at 3:13 a.m., according to a police record at the Newport News City Jail.

Macklin was signed by Chiefs former GM Carl Peterson on November 5th of 2008.

Macklin, like another former Chiefs arrestee Michael Merritt, played sparingly in his half season with the Chiefs.

He played a lot more than Merritt

Quite a bit, in fact. Macklin was all over special teams and subbed in and out of the nickleback spot with Colclough

Actually

I don’t even believe Merritt stepped on the field last year. Macklin & Colclough both saw significant playing time after their signings

I initially was like who? when this posting came up. Macklin’s name was not at all on my radar. Thanks Shuffle for reminding me who he is. Thing is, I think, that we had such a rotating line of players last season, it was hard to keep up with all the names.
