Read an article on Yahoo yesterday that called the Chiefs....

one of the 5 sleeper teams for the Super Bowl. The Media really believes in the Patriots mistique. And what’s really amazing is the East Coast media bias is actually benefiting the Chiefs for once.

I saw that article last night.

Its funny how perceptions change as soon as you get rid of a stagnate regime.

or bring in an East Coast media darling "Piloi"

as an east coaster

maybe this will mean i can finally ditch DTV and watch KC on Thursday/Sunday/ and Monday night games.

Doesn’t “Snow Job” sound like A Jean Claude Vamdamme movie?

"I will fight you!"
"What is your weapon?"
"My bare hands!"
"That is stupid. I will use a sword and I will cut off your bare hands."

I don't get it
The Chiefs can’t possibly miss in this slot. If the Lions go quarterback at the top, K.C. will have their pick between Curry, the draft’s cleanest prospect, and one of the top two offensive tackles. If Detroit goes for Curry, the Chiefs still get the tackle they need in either Smith or Monroe. And if the Lions and Rams both go offensive tackle, Kansas City winds up with the defensive play-maker it lacks in Curry.

Would it be great if we landed Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe? Yes

But do we still need a tackle? Both Smith and Monroe are shorter and lighter than Albert, so I just don’t get why so many people still think we need a LT…

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

by PVChiefsfan on Mar 13, 2009 8:34 AM CDT reply actions

I'm telling you

I really have jumped on board with a lot of people to get Curry with the #3 pick. However, if he is gone, then get one of those tackles. Moving Albert to RT and getting Woods or another Center with the 3rd round pick, We have improved our offensive line 100%. Let the remaining few players fight it out for the RG spot.

It would be great...........

We could score 35 points a game and the other team will score 45……..flash backs of the Dick Vermeil era which i might add got us nothing!! I cant say that it wouldnt be nice to get Smith or Monroe, but i dont think it would be good to move B.Albert, he is our LT. With no moves in the free agent market, i cant help but think S.Pioli is going to do some trading of players to get more draft picks,or at least i hope so at this point. We have so many holes to fill and not enough picks to do it. What do you guys think ?

by CPT.Caveman on Mar 13, 2009 8:57 AM CDT reply actions

It may be a Dickie V like year...

I don’t think we should expect everything to be fixed in one offseason. We can solidify the line or the d, but it will take some major moves to do both this year.

+1

I agree completely. In fact I said almost exactly the same thing yesterday. I think we can count on having a ridiculous Offense next year. It will take a while to build our D to respectability.

caveman

i think pioli has a grand scheme right now and we will be very active on trading during the draft for picks also once guys get cut from training camp get ready for picking up guys that fit our plan.

NOT

Clearly our defense needs lots of work. However, it takes longer to build an offensive line then to build a defense. Part of the reason those Vermeil led Chiefs offenses were so good is because the offensive line had been together so long!! Focus on building an offensive line to protect your QB this year and if there are additional opportunities to build the defense then take them. But if your QB is hammered for two years while your trying to build a defense then it could take another 3 or 4 years to get a QB trained and ready to beat the world.

Like i said ..........

Did we win a Super Bowl when our o-line was so great ………no we didnt! It takes d-fense to win Super Bowl’s,look what the titans did with kerri collins and the ravens with dilfer and they won! If were building o-line we should have kept our 2nd round pick and use our first and second picks on o-line guys. With those two o-line guys we would be pretty much done on the o-line, except for maybe getting a replacement for waters next yr. There are after all some good qb’s that are going to be in next year’s draft. Does anyone know what Tyler Thigpen can do behind a good o-line, no we dont and never will now.

by CPT.Caveman on Mar 13, 2009 1:47 PM CDT up reply actions

I like Pat White at the Slash position

But with Cassel as the QB, maybe they will use Thigpen there.

by ChiefDJ on Mar 13, 2009 9:16 AM CDT reply actions

I really do think that will be the case

In 2008, Thigpen demonstrated to the rest of the league that he is a legitimate threat in the passing game…using him as a slash type player could cause some serious problems for opposing defenses.

If Cassel and Thigpen are on the field at the same time, interesting things will happen.

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

by PVChiefsfan on Mar 13, 2009 9:32 AM CDT up reply actions

That is true

But I would also say that Thigpen has nothing on Pat White’s ability to run the ball.

by Chris Thorman on Mar 13, 2009 9:34 AM CDT up reply actions

Pat White......

yeah he’s good but there’s no-way we pick-up a QB at this point. I wish we could trade down to get more picks and maybe get Matthews from USC he would make a nice addition and could play MLB.

What's Up With The Arrowhead Photo

Does it look off to other people or is it just me? Maybe I don’t understand art.

Beat the Donkeys!!

by schraggyj on Mar 13, 2009 10:51 AM CDT reply actions

Tilt shift

It has been photoshopped to make it look like you built a model of Arrowhead then taken a picture of the model but in reality it’s just a picture of the real arrowhead that has had a gradient blur added and the contrast tweaked.

Blame my wife!
Waiting until August!
