Chiefs Sign Former Dolphins Corner Travis Daniels
Travis Daniels signed with the Kansas City Chiefs today. Of course, the Chiefs didn't release any other terms of the deal.
We heard a rumor last week that the Chiefs were eyeing the former Dolphins cornerback and as it turns out this rumor came to fruition.
We covered Daniels and a few of his accomplishments in this post.
With this addition, this is how the defensive back depth chart shapes up:
LCB: Brandon Carr, David Macklin
RCB: Brandon Flowers, Ricardo Colclough
(Why don't the Chiefs list Maurice Leggett on their depth chart on the website?)
Adding Daniels should solidify the secondary. The duo of Carr and Flowers proved capable last season, both as rookies.
One other note on this signing. It appears he visited Kansas City on Sunday and was scheduled to visit Denver on Monday. We're working on finding out whether he made the visit to Denver or not.
A lot of times, one team will make an offer before he leaves town to visit another. Especially if he is visiting a divisional rival. Signing a player you want while snatching him from a division rival? Nice work, Pioli.

Yeah
Those reviews are not good. Maybe he’ll just compete with Leggett, which is fine.

Thing is, prior to that infamous evening, I was down with Miami. You call Joey Porter a d-bag (hard to argue that) and you find yourself opening Pandora’s box.
I witnessed what happened to
you the last time. Those guys were out-of -control! They took your comments way to personal.

Can we pick SOMEONE up
that hasn’t either been on NE’s (Belichick) or Miami’s (Parcell’s) roster?
Anyone else see the pattern here. It’s like Pioli’s jsut getting his 411 from Belichick or Pioli and isn’t even looking elsewhere.
Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."
"My job is not to collect talent, but to build a team. Individuals make the Pro Bowl. Teams win championships. That is our goal."—Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.
You're in...
Pioli spoke to Parcell’s and Belichick while they were all 3 driving together in Pioli’s Mercedes SUV looking for a tri-plex in Loch Loyd and decided to give you a try out for the LB position.
Belichick was pretty specific and said “we’ll see”. Parcell’s was pretty pissed listening to Kietzman on the radio and said something unintelligible about T.O. and Pioli spoke about building a team and not interested in Pro bowl talent.
Get your jock strap ready, you’re in training camp. I’ll take the nominal 7% agent fee…minus the finders fee. I’ll get the contract over to you but right now, the numbers aren’t coming out right. It seems that at this point we both owe the org. money instead of the other way around.
