Travis Daniels signed with the Kansas City Chiefs today. Of course, the Chiefs didn't release any other terms of the deal.
We heard a rumor last week that the Chiefs were eyeing the former Dolphins cornerback and as it turns out this rumor came to fruition.
We covered Daniels and a few of his accomplishments in this post.
With this addition, this is how the defensive back depth chart shapes up:
LCB: Brandon Carr, David Macklin
RCB: Brandon Flowers, Ricardo Colclough
(Why don't the Chiefs list Maurice Leggett on their depth chart on the website?)
Adding Daniels should solidify the secondary. The duo of Carr and Flowers proved capable last season, both as rookies.
One other note on this signing. It appears he visited Kansas City on Sunday and was scheduled to visit Denver on Monday. We're working on finding out whether he made the visit to Denver or not.
A lot of times, one team will make an offer before he leaves town to visit another. Especially if he is visiting a divisional rival. Signing a player you want while snatching him from a division rival? Nice work, Pioli.
