Those that we never should have let go

So here's an interesting discussion piece.  Well I hope it will be as i have been thinking about it this past weekend with all trade frenzy that has gripped the league.  In the past years (well I'm going to look back on about the last ten or so), there have been players that we lost through FA which I believe we never should have let go.  I'm only going to look at a few of them, but which ones do you think were just a bad call and never should have happened?  For the sake of length here I am going to keep it to around five or six.  I am sure there are more but these are the ones that just seemed egregiously wrong to me.

John Tait: FA Loss 2004.  He was a solid Tackle and was replaced the following season by John Welborne...

Kawika Mitchell: FA loss 2006 to the Giants.  We know how that one ended up for him.  Replace by Napoleon Harris

Rich Gannon: FA loss in 1999 to Raiders, we kept Grbac.  Gannon goes on to play in Superbowl in 2002.

Jared Allen:  FA loss to Minn in 2008.  And our D went where last year?

Donnie Edwards: the first time; FA loss to SD 2001.  Replace by Mike Maslowski

Tony Richardson: FA loss to Minn in 2006.  Replaced by Kris Wilson if you can call that a replacement.  And our running game hasn't been the same since.
