With the 3-4 coming
We all figure it to be part of our next season adventures. I was wondering what the LB corps is goin to look like and who our coaches are going to be. Pendergast and Gibbs are both fired D Cordinators. Both have history as a LB coach. And nothing more. If we bring Romeo in do we give the LB coach to both of them or what?
Then with the LB corp. What would DJ be in our 3-4. We will have Vrabel which can play Lolb and inside. Then if we could draft curry they say he would be an OLB. So what does this mean for the outlook of our group? Who knows who the other LB could be.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Agreed
DJ and another LB in the middle (I doubt we draft Curry) with Vrabel and Hali on the outside.
I’m not convinced Hali will be effective at OLB, but he certainly won’t be able to play DE in the 3-4.
I see that as a possibility this year (Hali trade)
"But what do I know, I'm AP's new asshole and I’m like an empty room with a large ECHO"
I'm not sure actually
i’d say a third at the very best

There lies the rub
how many of our current 4-3 players will actually be able to transition to the 3-4? Some guys like Demorrio Williams seem to be much better suited for the 4-3 due to their size. I am looking forward to the OTAs to see how some of this shakes down.
And if we don’t take Curry, who do you see us getting at #3?
At this point, I would be down with that
I am not sure we could find a starter quality tackle, albeit a right tackle, in the 3rd round? Jason Smith looks versatile enough to me to play left or right. Sorry Sacintosh, I just don’t have any faith in ya. Pick up a center in the 3rd round (Eric Wood maybe) and then move Niswanger to RG.
weve been talking to Alex Boone
At the combine and the senior bowl… He’s a third round prospect that made Brian Orakpo look like a Pop Warner player.. Maybe he takes RT…
Time is a great teacher... unfortunately it kills all it's pupils.
Good point
there could be a player there in the 3rd. Boone has lots of experience which should help him make the transition quicker than some 3rd rounders. I feel like we need a starter who can come in and player, not sit behind someone for a year.
There was talk
Towards the end of the season and right after the regular season. Of Bernard Pollard playing some OLB. Then we could put DaJuan at SS and fill a OLB spot. Don’t think he has the size but there was talk.
I dont know how confortable I feel about Morgan starting
out of the draft he looked like a starter, but how much did he even play last year?
I think
Pollard would be a beast at rush linebacker… I hope the coaching staff is high on Morgan

DJ
will move back to outside, and Vrabel could play inside or outside. Curry or Eugene Monroe or Jason Smith will be the pick, depending on what is deemed a bigger need for us. I say with the Vrabel trade, that they are poised to move to a 3-4 and that Curry will be the choice to solidify our linebackers corps, but since we have not signed a decent o-lineman Monroe or Smith could be the pick moving Albert to RT.
I like Vrabel better on the inside
He isnt as fast as a rush linebacker should be, he could bolster the inside with smart reads and heavy hits
