February 2009 Clark Hunt Approval Rating

610x_medium

Okay readers. The title pretty much says it all.

Do you approve or disapprove of the job Clark Hunt is doing as Chiefs owner?

We'll do this on a monthly basis for Hunt, Scott Pioli and whoever the new head coach is. I'm really liking the poll response as of late. It makes these things all the more interesting when we get over 1,000 votes.

Easily the second best owner in franchise history

Relive Royals History at royalsretro.blogspot.com

Obviously, we all

hope he can become the BEST owner in franchise history. For me, one way to do that is to have just a little LESS patience than Lamar did. There is no reason we had to have Steadman or Peterson around for as long as we did. And, of course, today the NFL moves even quicker than it did “back then”. When it is clear that teams can turn around very quickly, we don’t need to be waiting around being patient forever.

I am glad to see

he is taking interest, and trying to make them the best team he can build, with a championship in mind. He could take the spoiled rich kid rout, and just milk it for all it is worth then sell it. Glad to see he wants to win as bad as us, now get rid of LJ!

If you are unsure, or vote disapprove

please share what he could do better, or what he could have done better.

I approve

but I think he could have moved faster on the HC issue. I know, I know, you are going to say that was up to the GM. But I think it was obvious Herm wasn’t going to stay as HC. Now we need an HC and an entire defensive staff with FA weeks away and the draft shortly thereafter. Overall, I like Clark so far, but this would be my biggest gripe.

I see your point

but I am glad we haven’t been like Browns fans and seen all this crap played out in the media. In a way I feel for them having to endure an ass like Lerner for doing that.

We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

Ok already, if you don't agree with what I am saying, just don't email my mom again. She beat the crap out of me with my keyboard!

Totally agreed

Clark is handling the job with class. We just need to, you know, start improving the team now.

As limited as my knowledge may be

about NFL owners and their respective teams, I think we have of the finest if not THE finest owner in all of the NFL. Classy to the core. Young to boot

It would be interesting to see

how many other teams have undergone such a complete face lift in so short a time, i.e. a new owner; GM and HC in such a short span. And a retrospect on the effects it had on team performance.

ooh ooh i need it

Chan Gailey is the only guy with the balls to draft Tebow as a HB/TE/2nd QB and actually USE him that way -- alongside a pure passer to help bring on the future of the NFL. It sounds absurd but I swear if you saw my chalkboard....

REMEMBER: On average, a professional team should win the championship about 1 time in 30 years. So how demanding should we be of our college head coaches?

The only beef I have against him

Is how long he and Pioli held Herm Edwards after Pioli was signed. He probably should have fired Herm before he brought Pioli in. Also I wish that we had made a more insistent move on Pioli because if he was brought in sooner we may have had Josh McDaniels head coaching our team. With him being the QB coach that brought along Tom Brady and Matt Cassel I would see no harm in keeping Tyler Thigpen around. But don’t get me wrong he’s doing everything that can be done to help the Chiefs to succeed not only now but in the future as well

Wow this is overwhelmingly approving.

Of course this is kind of Clark’s honeymoon phase. We will all like him while he’s giving our franchise a facelift but unless we start producing I assume his approval rating could plummet pretty fast.

Who the HELL is disapproving?

Those people need to be put to sleep – for good.

Unsure

Sure he made the good hire of Scott Pioli, and fired Herm…

But the chiefs were really late in firing Herm and finding a new coach, theres been how many…11 teams that needed a new HC, and the chiefs will be the last team this year to get their new HC. No Rex Ryan, no Steve Spagnola, our only options are Haley and Galey. I like those two canadites but I would rather of had Ryan or Spagnola. Both are defensive guys, which we desperately need. So I can’t make a decision until the new HC is chosen
